The enginecoolantreservoir tankis equipped with
apressure cap, useaGenuine INFINITI caporits
equivalent whenreplacement is required.
CHECKING ENGINE COOLANT LEVEL
NOTE
Thecoolantlevel must only be checkedand corrected
when the engine has cooled down (coolant tempera-
ture under 40
o
C). Checking the coolant level when the
coolant temperature is over 40
o
Ccan lead to damage
to the engine or engine cooling system.
1. Park the vehicle on alevel surface.
Only checkthe coolant level ifthe vehicle is
on alevel surface and the engine has cooled
down
2. Switch the ignition switch to the ON position.
3. Checkthe coolant temperature display in the
combination meter.The coolant temperature
must be below 40
o
C.
4. Switch the ignition switch to the OFF posi-
tion.
5. Slowly turn cap

1half aturn anti-clockwise
to allow excess pressure to escape.
6. Turn cap
j
1further anti-clockwiseand re-
move it.
If the coolant is at the level of marker bar
j

in the fillerneckwhen cold, there is enough
coolant in coolant expansion tank
j
2.
7. If necessary,top up with coolant that has
been tested and approvedbyINFINITI.
8. Replace cap
j
1and turn it clockwiseasfar
as it will go.
CAUTION
Ifthecooling systemfrequentlyrequirescoolant, have
itcheckedbyanINFINITI Centre orqualifiedworkshop.
