3. The booster seatshould bepositioned on the
vehicle seat so that it is stable.
If necessary,adjust or remove the head re-
strainttoobtain the correct booster seatfit.

.If the head restraint is re-
moved, storeitinasecure place. Be sure to
reinstallthe headrestraint whenthe booster
seat is removed.
If the seatingposition does not have an ad-
justable head restraint and it is interfering
with the proper booster seat fit, tryanother
seatingposition or adifferent booster seat.
4. Position the lapportion of the seat belt low
and snug on the child’s hips. Be sure to fol-
lowthe booster seat manufacturer’s instruc-
tionsfor adjusting the seat belt routing.
5. Pull the shoulder belt portion of the seat belt
toward the retractor to take up extraslack.
Besure the shoulderbeltis positioned across
the top, middle portion of the child’s shoul-
der.Besure to follow the booster seat manu-
facturer’s instructionsfor adjusting the seat
belt routing.
6. Follow the warnings, cautionsand instruc-
tionsfor properly fastening aseatbelt shown
in
Precautionsonseatbelt usage earlier in this
section
.
7. Ifthe boosterseat is installedin thefront pas-
senger seat, turn the ignition switch to the
ACCorONposition.The <PASSENGER AIR BAG
ON>

PRECAUTIONS ON SUPP LEMENTAL
RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS)
This Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) sec-
tion containsimportant information concerning
thedriver’s and passenger’s supplementalfront
impactairbags, front seat-mountedside-impact
supplementalair bags, roof-mounted curtain
side-impact air bags, and pre-tensioner seat
belts.
Supplemental front-impact air bag
system
Thissystem canhelp cushion the impact force
to the head and chest areaofthe driver and/or
frontpassenger in certain frontal collisions. The
supplemental front-impact air bags are de-
signed to inflate when the front of the vehicle is
impacted.
Driver’s knee air bag
The driver’s knee air bag deploysunder the
steering column. The driver’s knee air bag is
triggered together with the front air bag.
The driver’sknee air bagoffers additionalthigh,
knee andlower leg protection for the occupant
inthe driver’s seat.
Frontseat-mounted side-impact
supplemental air bag system
This systemcan help cushion the impact force
to the chest and pelvis areas of the driver and
front passenger in certain side-impact colli-
