TACHOMETER
Thetachometerindicates the engine speed in
revolutionsper minute (rpm). Do not rev the en-
gineinthe red zone. Doing so will damage the
engine.
The red band in the tachometer indicates the
engine’s red zone.
The engine is limited within arangetoprotect
the engine whenthe red band is reached.
CAUTION
When engine speedapproaches the red zone, shift to
ahigher gearorreduceengine speed. Operating the
engine in thered zone maycause seriousengine dam-
age.
ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE
GAUGE
Under normaloperating conditionsand with the
specifiedcoolantlevel, the coolant temperature
may rise to 120
o
C(250
o
F).
At high outsidetemperatures and when driving
uphill,the coolant temperature mayrisetothe
end of the scale
WARNING
If youopen the bonnet while the engine is over-
heating or while there is afire in the engine com-
partment,you could come into contact with hot
gases or other leak ing service products. There is a
danger of injury.
Allow an overheating engine to cool down before
opening the bonnet.
If thereisafire in the engine compartment, leave
the bonnet closed and notifythe fire brigade.
FUELGAUGE
Thefuel gaugeindicates the approximate fuel
levelinthe tank when the ignition switch is in
the ON position.
Thegaugemay move slightly during braking,
turning, accelerating, orgoing upand downhills
due to movement of fuel in the tank.
The low fuel warning

appearsonthe ve-
hicle information display when the fuel level in
the tank is getting low.Refuel as soon as it is
convenient, preferably before the gaugereads
theempty position.
The arrow,

,indicates that the fuel-fillerlid
is located on the left side of the vehicle.
CAUTION
Refuel before the gaugereads the empty position.
There is asmall reserve of fuel in the tank when
the fuel gaugereads the empty position.
