Anti-lockBraking System
(ABS) warning light
When the ignition switch is in the ON position,
theAnti-lockBrakingSystem(ABS)warning light
illuminatestoindicate thatthe ABS is opera-
tional.The light then tuns off within afew sec-
ondsafter the engine is started.
If the ABS warning light illuminates while the
engine is running, or while driving, it mayindi-
cate the ABS is not functioning properly.Ob-
servethe additionaldisplay messages(if any) in
the vehicle informationdisplay.Have the sys-
temcheckedbyanINFINITI Centre or qualified
workshop.
If an ABS malfunction occurs, the anti-lockfunc-
tion is turned off.The brakesystem then oper-
ates normally,but without anti-lockassistance
(see
Brakesystem in the 5. Starting and driving
section
). BAS,Forward Emergency Braking,ESP/
VDC, ESP/VDC trailer stabilisation, EBD (Elec-
tronic BrakeforceDistribution), HillStartAssist,
for example, are also deactivated.
WARNING
The brakesystem continues to function normally,but
without the functionslisted above. The front and rear
wheels could therefore lock, for example, if youbrake
hard.
The steering and braking characteristicsmay be se-
verely affected. The braking distancemay increasein
an emergency braking situation.
If ESP/VDC is not operational, ESP/VDC is unableto
stabilise the vehicle. There is ariskofanaccident.
If the ABS control unit is faulty,there is alsoa
possibility that other systems, suchasthe navi-
gation system or the automatic transmission,
will be unavailable.
BRAKEwarning light (red)
WARNING
Your brakesystem maynot be working properly if
the warning light is on. Driving could be danger-
ous. Even if youjudgethe brakesystem to be safe,
drivecarefully to the nearest service station for
repairs.Otherwise, have your vehicle towed be-
causedriving it could be dangerous.
Pressing the brakepedal when the ignition switch
is not in the ON position and/or when the brake
fluid level is lowmay increasethe stopping dis-
tanceand braking will require greater pedal effort
as wellaspedal travel.
If the brakefluid level is below the minimum or
MIN mark on the brakefluid reservoir,donot drive
until the brakesystem has been checkedatan
INFINITI Centre or qualified workshop.
When the ignition switch is placed in the ON po-
sition, the light remainsilluminated and turns
off whenthe engine is started. If the light illumi-
nates at any other time, it mayindicate that the
brakesystem is not functioning properly.Ifthe
BRAKE
warning light illuminates, stop the ve-
hicle immediately andcontact an INFINITICentre
or qualified workshop.
Lowtyre pressure warning
light
Your vehicle is equipped with aTyre Pressure
MonitoringSystem (TPMS) that monitors the
tyre pressure of all tyres.
The low tyre pressure warning light warnsoflow
tyrepressure or indicates that the TPMSisnot
functioning properly.
When the ignition switch is in the ON position,
the Lowtyre pressure warming light illuminates
to indicate that the system is operational. The
lightthen tuns off within afew seconds afterthe
engine is started.
