DISPLAYMESSAGES
Display messagesappear in the vehicle infor-
mation display.
Displaymessageswith graphicsymbols are sim-
plified in the Owner’s Manual and maydiffer
from thesymbols in the vehicle information dis-
play.
Certain display messagesare accompanied by
an audible warning tone or acontinuoustone.
When the ignition is switched off,all display
messagesare deleted apartfrom some high-pri-
ority display messages. Oncethe causes of the
high-priority display messageshavebeen recti-
fied, these display messagesare deleted as
well.
When youstop and park the vehicle, pleaseob-
serve the notes on parking (see
“Parking” in the
“5. Starting and driving” section
).
Hiding display messages
Pressthe <OK> or
m
button to hide the dis-
play message. The display message is hidden.
Thevehicle information display shows high-pri-
ority display messagesinred. Some high-prior-
ity display messagescannot be hidden.
The vehicle information display shows these
messagescontinuously until the causes for the
mes

een remedied.
Messagememory
The vehicleinformation display saves certain
messagesinthe message memory. Youcan call
up these display messages:
1. Pressthe
m
or
m
buttononthe steering
wheeltoselect the [Service]menu.
If there aredisplay messages, the vehicle in-
formation display shows [2 messages], for
example.
2. Pressthe
m
or
m
button to select the
entry, e.g. [2 messages].
3. Press <OK> to confirm.
4. Press the
m
or
m
button to scroll
through the display messages.
