Quick Start Guide
Innex DC500 is a 2-in-1 document camera and webcam
that features crystal clear 4K resolution, a noise-cancelling
microphone, smart autofocus, and auto-rotation with its
built-in G-sensor. It works out of the box with most UC
software, such as Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams,
Skype, and more. Ideao’s complimentary software can
help you enhance your lessons and presentations.

Turn o Auto Focus mode when using the DC500 as a document
camera for still objects such as document. When Auto Focus is o,
auto focus is triggered only when the focus button “ ” is pressed.
AI Noise Reduction Auto Rotate 180°
Turn on Auto focus mode when using the DC500 as a webcam to
always keep your face in focus. Or as a document camera that
needs to capture dynamic movements.
When the Auto-Rotate mode is o, you can long press the button
to trigger 180° rotation.
(Use DC500 as a webcam)
The AI-powered noise reduction mode is designed to filter out
background noise, providing clear audio for eective communication
and improving the quality of remote presentations and meetings.
When the Auto-Rotate mode is on and you flip the camera head
to the front-facing position, the Auto-Rotate mode will
automatically rotate the view by 180°.
(3) Adjust the camera head until it is horizontal. Fully extend the
arm to capture A3-sized content. After adjusting the camera
to the desired position, press the focus button to trigger focus
if auto-focus mode is o.
(2) Plug in the USB cable and attach the cable clip
to the camera arm.

Overview

The Innex DC500 is a versatile 2-in-1 device functioning as both a 4K visualizer (document camera) and a webcam. It boasts crystal clear 4K resolution, a noise-cancelling microphone, smart autofocus, and an auto-rotation feature thanks to its built-in G-sensor. The device is designed for immediate use with most Unified Communications (UC) software, including Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Skype, enhancing lessons and presentations. For extended functionality, users can download Ideao VisualCam and the IdeaoCam Chrome extension, which offer digital zoom, snapshot, recording, annotation, and Google account integration.

Key Features and Usage:

The DC500's design incorporates several intuitive controls and features:

  • Micro USB Port (a): For connecting the device.
  • Auto Focus On/Off Button (b): This button allows users to toggle the autofocus mode. When off, autofocus is triggered manually by pressing the Focus/Rotate Button.
  • Focus / Rotate Button (c): A single press triggers autofocus once. A long press rotates the image by 0/180 degrees.
  • LED Light Button (d): Used to turn on the LED light, which offers three levels of brightness.
  • AI Noise Reduction On/Off (e): This AI-powered mode filters out background noise, ensuring clear audio for effective communication and improved remote presentations.
  • Auto Rotate 180° On/Off (f): When enabled, and the camera head is flipped to a front-facing position, the view automatically rotates by 180 degrees. If this mode is off, a long press of the Focus/Rotate button can manually trigger 180-degree rotation.

Getting Started:

  1. Setup: Pull the camera head up from its base plate as shown in the provided steps.
  2. Connectivity: Plug in the USB cable and attach the cable clip to the camera arm for organized cable management.
  3. Adjustment: Adjust the camera head horizontally. Fully extend the arm to capture A3-sized content. After positioning the camera, if auto-focus mode is off, press the focus button to trigger focus.

Operational Modes:

  • Auto Focus:
    • OFF: Recommended when using the DC500 as a document camera for still objects. In this mode, autofocus is triggered only by pressing the focus button.
    • ON: Recommended when using the DC500 as a webcam to keep the face in focus, or as a document camera for dynamic movements.
  • AI Noise Reduction:
    • ON: Activates the AI-powered noise reduction to filter out background noise, ensuring clear audio for effective communication and improved remote presentations.
    • OFF: Disables AI noise reduction.
  • Auto Rotate 180°:
    • OFF: When off, a long press of the Focus/Rotate button can trigger a 180-degree rotation. If the image appears mirrored, users should check the video settings in their video conference software.
    • ON: When the camera head is flipped to a front-facing position, the view will automatically rotate by 180 degrees. This mode is primarily for webcam use.
