Overview

The HTT-9C and HTT-9CP Robotic Massage™ Chair, manufactured by Interactive Health, is a state-of-the-art massage chair designed to provide a therapeutic and relaxing experience. Interactive Health has been a leader in massage products for nearly two decades, integrating the latest technology with the ancient healing art of massage to promote physical and mental well-being. This chair is intended for household use and comes with a comprehensive use and care manual to ensure maximum results and safety.

Function Description:

The core of the HTT-9C/HTT-9CP chair is the revolutionary Human Touch Technology (HTT). This multi-patent pending mechanism emulates the techniques used by massage and chiropractic professionals for back and spinal care. It features robotic components that act like "wrists and arms," with "hands" consisting of two, three-dimensional moving discs surrounded by a firm yet comfortable material that feels like "fingers and thumbs." This innovative system delivers a variety of massage functions that are both effective and enjoyable. The HTT is the preferred technology of the American College of Chiropractic Orthopedists (ACCO), underscoring its professional endorsement.

The chair offers four primary massage modes: Rolling, Kneading, Compression, and Percussion, along with stationary options for Kneading and Compression. It also includes programmed massage sessions for a varied experience.

  • Rolling Massage: This mode involves oval-elliptical nodes that slowly and gently move up and down your back, near the spine, alternating side to side. It emulates the effleurage technique used by professional massage therapists, feeling like hands pressing firmly yet gently on muscles. This function warms up and loosens muscles, relieves tension, and prepares the back for deeper therapeutic massage, improving circulation and relaxing the back.

  • Kneading Massage: In this mode, massage nodes move in small, circular motions simultaneously on both sides of the spine. It feels like thumbs or heels of the hand pressing firmly in a circular motion. This technique emulates the thumb kneading performed by massage therapists and is considered a more intense, deep muscle massage. It relieves tension and soreness by lifting and stretching muscles, improving circulation, and helping bring vital nutrients to the spinal area.

  • Compression Massage: An exclusive feature of Interactive Health's HTT product line, compression involves alternating strokes along the back that press on both spinal muscles and spinal joint areas. It feels like the heels of hands firmly pushing on muscles along the side of the spine, then inward toward the spine, with alternating "hands" delivering a soothing rocking motion. This technique is frequently used in sports medicine and spinal therapy by chiropractors, spreading pressure on deep muscle tissue to promote relaxation and loosening spinal joints. It aids in muscle and joint repair from exercise, long hours at a desk, or high stress, improving mobility and overall posture.

  • Percussion Massage: This mode features alternating strokes along the spine that stimulate both spinal muscles and spinal joint areas. It feels like fists or the length of a hand rapidly tapping on back muscles. Emulating percussive massage, popular in sports medicine and deep muscle therapy, this function flexes spinal joints, relieves pressure on the spinal column, and invigorates the entire back area.

Usage Features:

The HTT-9C/HTT-9CP chair is designed for ease of use with a handheld controller. Users can customize their massage experience by selecting specific functions, pinpointing massage to any area of the back, or allowing the massage to move automatically up and down the spine. The chair also offers automatic program modes: Mode A (3-4 minutes) and Mode B (7-8 minutes), which consist of a series of combined functions.

The controller includes:

  • Power ON indicator: Lights up when the chair is on.
  • Auto Recline DOWN/UP (HTT-9CP only): Buttons to recline the chair automatically.
  • Rolling Button: Initiates rolling massage; subsequent presses adjust speed.
  • Kneading Button: Initiates kneading massage; subsequent presses adjust speed.
  • Compression Button: Initiates compression massage; subsequent presses adjust speed.
  • Up/Down Speed Button: Adjusts the speed for kneading and compression.
  • Percussion Button: Initiates percussion massage; subsequent presses adjust speed.
  • Range Control: Allows adjustment of the massage stroke (full, partial, or spot/stationary) for kneading and compression.
  • Manual Down/Up Buttons: Manually moves massage discs to a desired location, active for kneading and compression in partial/spot modes, and for percussion in spot mode.
  • Program Mode A/B Buttons: Activates pre-determined massage programs.
  • Stop/Park Down/Up Buttons: Stops all massage functions and parks the massage head at its lowest or highest position.

The chair is equipped with a massage softening pad, which can be inserted into a pocket on the back cover to adjust massage intensity. Additional softening pads are available for purchase.

Maintenance Features:

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your HTT-9C/HTT-9CP massage chair, follow these simple care guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Always disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet before cleaning. Do not use benzene, thinner, or other solvents. Remove dust from the backrest or armrest with a vacuum. If soiled, wipe with a damp cloth, then a dry cloth. Common vinyl cleaners can be used for tough stains, but always follow manufacturer instructions and pre-test on an inconspicuous area. When cleaning the controller or around the power switch, use a dry cloth only; never use a damp cloth.
  • Storage: It is suggested to cover the chair when not in use for long periods. When not in use for an extended time, coil the power cord and place the unit in an environment free of dust and moisture. Do not store near heat or open flame, or expose to direct sunlight for long periods, as this may cause fading or damage.
  • Mechanical Maintenance: The mechanics of this product are specially designed and constructed to be maintenance-free. No periodic lubrication or servicing is required.
  • Foreign Objects: Do not insert foreign objects between the massage nodes or the unit housing.

Assembly:

The HTT-9C/HTT-9CP is largely ready for use out of the box, requiring only a small amount of assembly. This includes lifting the backrest until it locks, installing the backpad by attaching Velcro straps, lifting the footrest, installing the seat cushion into the lower footrest frame, and connecting the handheld controller cord to the chair's remote control socket.

Warranty & Service:

The HTT-9C/HTT-9CP comes with a limited one-year warranty against mechanical defects (cosmetics are not covered). The warranty is void if the product has been misused or damaged beyond Interactive Health's control. An extended 3-year warranty is available. For repairs, contact Interactive Health Customer Service for instructions and assistance. Users are responsible for properly packing and shipping the product/parts to the repair facility. A Return Authorization Number (RA) must be clearly written on the outside of the box, and proof of purchase is required. Interactive Health covers repair and return shipping costs for issues within the first 90 days of ownership. Between 90 days and 1 year, users pay for labor costs, and Interactive Health covers return shipping. After 1 year, users are responsible for all repair costs. All service must be approved by Interactive Health.
