Do you have a question about the inventiv INV-ISDBL20-BM and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The Inventiv 20V Max Impact Driver (model 739794 / INV-ISDBL20-BM / 3603747397944) is a cordless power tool designed for fastening and loosening bolts, nuts, and various threaded fasteners. It is not intended for use as a drill. This device comes with a 5-year warranty, highlighting its durability and the manufacturer's confidence in its quality.

Technical Specifications:

  • Voltage: 20V Max (measured at no load) / 18V Nominal
  • No-load speed: 0-900/2400/3000 min⁻¹
  • Impact rate: 0-1200/3300/4000 cp. min⁻¹
  • Max torque: 260 Nm
  • Chuck capacity: 1/4" (6.35mm)
  • Machine weight (without battery): 1.1 Kg
  • Noise Information:
    • A-weighted sound pressure (LPA): 83.6 dB (A) with KPA= 3 dB (A)
    • A-weighted sound power (LWA): 94.6 dB (A) with KWA= 3 dB (A)
    • Users are advised to wear ear protection.
  • Vibration Information (determined according to EN 62841):
    • Vibration emission value (ah): 7.446 m/s²
    • Uncertainty (K): 1.5 m/s²
    • The declared vibration and noise emission values are measured under standard test methods and can be used for comparing tools and for preliminary exposure assessment. Actual values may vary depending on usage, workpiece, tool condition, and accessories. Prolonged use of high-vibration tools can lead to hand-arm vibration syndrome if not adequately managed.

Usage Features:

The impact driver is equipped with several features to enhance usability and safety:

  • Brushless Motor: Indicated by "BRUSHLESS" on the tool, this typically offers improved efficiency, longer lifespan, and more power compared to brushed motors.
  • Quick-Release Chuck: Features a 1/4" (6.35mm) chuck for rapid insertion and removal of screwdriver bits. To insert a bit, pull the chuck sleeve forward, fully insert the bit until it seats, and then release the sleeve. Removal follows the same procedure. For short bits, a magnetic adapter is recommended.
  • On/Off Switch (Trigger): A variable speed trigger allows for control over speed and torque based on the amount of pressure applied. The tool also includes an electronic brake function that stops the chuck immediately upon release of the trigger, ensuring precise fastening and preventing free rotation.
  • 3-Speed Selector: A red button allows users to select one of three rotation speeds (1 to 3, with 3 being the fastest), indicated by an illuminated display. This feature enables adaptation to different tasks and materials.
  • Forward/Reverse/Lock Control: A lever (7) on the tool allows selection of forward rotation (lever to the left, marked "▷▷▷") for driving screws, reverse rotation (lever to the right, marked "◁◁◁") for removing screws or jammed drill bits, and a central lock position (B1) to prevent unintentional starting when the tool is not in use. It is crucial not to change the direction of rotation while the chuck is still spinning; always wait until it has stopped.
  • LED Light Indicator: An integrated LED light (5) illuminates the work area when the On/Off switch is slightly depressed, turning off automatically 10 seconds after the switch is released.
  • Battery Compatibility: The tool uses an 18V Li-ion battery (9, not supplied). Compatible battery references include 279495/INV-BAT20-2AH, 739873/INV-BAT20-4AH, and 739874/INV-BAT20-8AH.
  • Battery Lock: A battery lock (6) secures the battery in place.
  • Belt Clip: A belt clip (8) is provided for convenient carrying and attachment to a belt or trousers.
  • Protection System: The tool and battery are equipped with a protection system to extend battery life and prevent damage. This system will automatically cut off power if the tool is overloaded (drawing abnormally high current), overheated (tool and/or battery become too hot), or if the battery voltage is too low. In case of overload, release the trigger, stop the application, and restart. For overheating, allow the tool and battery to cool down before restarting. For low battery, remove and recharge the battery.

Battery Charging (Charger not supplied):

  • Compatible charger references include 279496/INV-CH20-BM / ACG1820D1 (1 battery), 739693/INV-FCH20-BM / ACG1860D (Rapid), and 739346/INV-DCH20-BM / ACG1840D2 (Double).
  • Batteries should be charged for 1 hour before first use, indoors, in a dry, well-ventilated area, with ambient temperatures between 15°C and 30°C and humidity below 60%.
  • The charger indicates battery charge level: continuous red light during charging, continuous green light when fully charged.
  • Optimal charging temperature is between 18°C and 24°C. Do not store batteries in extreme temperatures (above 40°C or below 0°C).

Safety Precautions (General and Specific):

  • Read Manuals: Always read the instruction manual and user manual carefully to reduce the risk of injury.
  • Work Area: Keep the work area clean, well-lit, and free of children and bystanders. Do not operate in explosive atmospheres.
  • Electrical Safety: Use appropriate plugs and outlets. Avoid body contact with earthed surfaces. Do not expose the tool to rain or wet conditions. Do not abuse the power cord. Use an RCD-protected supply in damp locations.
  • Personal Safety: Stay alert, use common sense, and do not operate the tool when tired or under the influence. Always wear personal protective equipment, including eye protection, hearing protection, and a dust mask.
  • Battery Safety (Li-ion):
    • Do not disassemble or reassemble the battery.
    • Prevent short circuits by avoiding contact between terminals and metal objects.
    • Do not use or leave the battery near heat sources (above 80°C).
    • Do not immerse the battery in water.
    • Do not charge near heat sources or in direct sunlight.
    • Use only the specified charger and follow charging conditions.
    • Do not puncture, strike, or step on the battery.
    • Avoid dropping or subjecting the battery to strong impacts.
    • Do not use deformed or damaged batteries.
    • Do not solder directly onto the battery.
    • Do not reverse charge or excessively discharge the battery.
    • Do not connect the battery to an electrical outlet or car cigarette lighter.
    • Do not use the battery for unspecified equipment.
    • If the battery leaks, do not touch the liquid with bare hands. If electrolyte gets into eyes, wash immediately with fresh water for at least 10 minutes and consult a doctor.
    • Do not mix Li-ion batteries with other types of batteries or batteries of different power/design.
    • Keep batteries out of reach of children.
    • Stop charging if the battery is not fully charged within the specified time.
    • Store batteries in a dry, cool, and well-ventilated place. Do not store in microwaves or high-pressure containers.
    • If a battery leaks or emits a bad odor, do not use it and keep it away from flammable objects.
    • Do not use batteries that show rust, discoloration, or deformation.

Maintenance Features:

  • General Maintenance: Remove the battery before any adjustment or maintenance. If the machine malfunctions despite proper care, repairs should be performed by qualified personnel.
  • Cleaning: The most effective cleaning method is compressed air. Always wear eye protection when using compressed air. Keep ventilation slots and the switch clean. Clean orifices with a pointed object carefully to avoid damage. Do not use chemical cleaners. Wipe the tool clean with a dry cloth.
  • Lubrication: The tool requires no additional lubrication.
  • Storage: Store the machine, instructions, and accessories in their original packaging in a dry place.
  • Recycling (WEEE): The product is subject to the WEEE directive (2002/96/CE). Do not dispose of electrical and electronic equipment with household waste. Take it to a designated collection center for recycling or return it to the distributor when purchasing a new, similar product. Batteries should be disposed of in appropriate recycling bins.

This impact driver is designed for efficiency and user convenience, backed by robust safety guidelines and a comprehensive warranty.
