What to do if the counter fails to register on my ISOIL SBM 150?
    • D
Dr. Richard Mills IVAug 4, 2025
If liquid is passing with a normal flow rate, but the counter on your ISOIL Measuring Instruments fails to register, it could be due to a defective counter. Remove and check the counter by rotating the bottom coupling. If there's a problem, contact the factory. Alternatively, the drive from the rotor might not be reaching the counter because of sheared pins in the calibrating mechanism. Inspect the cross pins fitted on all gears within the calibrating mechanism.

Why is my ISOIL SBM 150 Measuring Instruments leaking from the front or rear cover joint?
    • W
      weaverjudithAug 10, 2025
If your ISOIL Measuring Instruments is leaking liquid from the joint at the front cover and body or rear cover and body, the issue is likely due to damaged o’ring seals, unclean o’ring grooves, or loose cover bolts. To resolve this, clean the o’ring grooves, replace the o’rings, and ensure the cover bolts are securely tightened.

      Jennifer FisherAug 21, 2025
If your ISOIL Measuring Instruments has excess delivery beyond 1%, it might be caused by damaged vane blades. Inspect and replace any damaged vane blades. Another potential cause is a jammed rotor or calibrating mechanism. Refer to the instructions above for addressing this issue.

How to fix a leak at the front cover and calibrating mechanism on my ISOIL SBM 150?
    • M
      Mason KingAug 28, 2025
If liquid is leaking from the joint at the front cover and calibrating mechanism of your ISOIL Measuring Instruments, it's likely that the spindle seal is damaged. Replace the spindle seal and inspect the rotor spindle for wear or scratch marks.

Why is no liquid passing through my ISOIL Measuring Instruments?
    • M
      mbrownNov 15, 2025
If no liquid is passing through your ISOIL Measuring Instruments, several issues could be the cause. It could be due to: * A defective counter - remove and inspect the counter for free movement. * A jammed calibrating mechanism - remove and inspect the calibrating mechanism, identify the source of friction, and replace any affected parts. * A jammed rotor assembly - dismantle the meter assembly and inspect the front & rear covers and rotor for scoring marks, and inspect the vanes and bearings for damage. * Solid particles trapped on the rotor surface - clean the rotor surfaces. * Incorrect adjustment of rotor end clearance due to a loose or defective bearing adjuster - check the setting of the bearing adjuster, and clean and inspect the bearing adjuster. * Jammed rotor bearings...
