NOTE
The lockup clutch does not work in "R".•
ADVICE
When changing gears from "N" to move the vehicle, press the selector button
while depressing the brake pedal. Otherwise the gear is not engaged.
If the gear is not engaged, reselect "N", and press the selector button while
depressing the brake pedal.
When the engine is running at approximately 900 r/min or higher, the
transmission does not engage any drive gear and thus the vehicle does not
move.
If this happens, release the accelerator pedal and return the idling control knob
to the fully counterclock position to run the engine at idle. Then, depress the
brake pedal and press the desired selector button.
When shifting from "N" to "R", the gear is not engaged unless the vehicle
is stopped. Being stopped means that the vehicle speed is lower than
approximately 3 km/h (approximately 2 MPH).
When shifting from a forward gear to the reverse gear or vice versa, stop the
vehicle and then press the selector button.
If the gear does not shift even when you follow the steps described above, the
accelerator sensor system or the automatic transmission system is likely to be
faulty. Please contact the nearest Isuzu Dealer.
