Stopping the Engine
Models with Passive Entry and Start
System
1. Bring the vehicle to a complete stop
and firmly apply the parking brake. In
manual transmission models, place
the gearshift lever in the "N" position.
In automatic transmission models,
place the selector lever in the "P"
position.
2. Push the engine start/stop button
once and the engine will stop.
WARNING
• In the case of an emergency, the engine can be stopped while the vehicle is in
motion by performing the following:
- Continue pushing the engine start/stop button for 3 seconds or more.
- Push the engine start/stop button three times or more within 2 seconds.
• For details on stopping the engine in the case of an emergency, please refer to
"Emergency Engine Stopping (Models with Passive Entry and Start System)".
ADVICE
• The power mode will switch to "OFF" when the engine stops. In automatic
transmission models, the power mode will switch to "ACC" when the selector
lever is placed in any position other than "P". To prevent the battery from going
flat, switch the power mode to "OFF" after stopping the engine.
