The Jabra PanaCast is a panoramic-4K video conferencing camera designed for huddle rooms, offering a 180° field of view through real-time video stitching from three 13-megapixel cameras. It aims to provide inclusive meetings with a natural view of the room and is optimized for use with Jabra Speak audio solutions. The device incorporates intelligent video technology, including Intelligent Zoom, which automatically adjusts the field of view to include all participants (up to 3.5m/11.5ft), and Vivid HDR, which optimizes video quality under varying lighting conditions. Both Intelligent Zoom and Vivid HDR are enabled by default and can be toggled on or off using Jabra Direct software.
For instant collaboration, the PanaCast features plug-and-play technology, making video and audio setup hassle-free. It boasts versatile compatibility, certified for Microsoft Teams and compatible with Zoom, Cisco Webex, and other leading video and audio-conferencing solutions.
The camera itself features two built-in HD microphones, which are off by default but can be enabled or disabled via a firmware update using Jabra Direct. The optimal microphone range is up to 2.5 meters or 8 feet. The device includes a USB-C 3.0 port for connectivity and an adjustable mounting bracket for either wall mount or table stand use.
Technical Specifications and Setup:
The Jabra PanaCast supports Windows 7 or later and macOS 10.9 or later, requiring no additional drivers. For customizing camera settings and updating firmware, users are recommended to download and install Jabra Direct software from jabra.com/direct.
Powering the Camera:
External power is not required when the camera is connected to a USB 3.0 port on a computer using the supplied 1m/3ft USB cable. However, if the computer only has USB 2.0 ports, an external powered USB hub is necessary to power the camera. A longer 1.8m/6ft USB cable is available as an optional accessory.
Mounting Options:
- Wall Mount: The camera can be wall-mounted using an optional wall mount accessory. A screwdriver and two 1/4 inch screws (not supplied) are required. Optimal placement is at eye-level of participants, 0.5m to 3.5m (1.5ft to 11.5ft) from them. Mounting too far may pixelate the image, while mounting too close may negatively affect image stitching. Direct sunlight should be avoided as it can impact white balance and image quality.
- Table Stand: An optional table stand can be used, which includes three cable clips for optimal cable management. Similar to wall mounting, the camera should be positioned 0.5m to 3.5m (1.5ft to 11.5ft) from participants, and direct sunlight should be avoided.
Jabra PanaCast Hub (Optional Accessory):
The Jabra PanaCast Hub, with a built-in 1m/3ft USB-C cable, can be used to connect the computer to the camera. The Hub also allows for connections to a Jabra speakerphone, an HDMI monitor (4K), a VGA monitor (1080p), and an ethernet connection. It requires a USB-C PD power adapter with a minimum output of 45W. It is recommended to install the Hub out of sight.
Camera Features and Adjustments:
- Field of View: The viewing angle can be adjusted to 90°, 120°, 140°, or 180° using Jabra Direct. The default is 180°.
- Camera Orientation: If the camera is mounted upside down, the video feed can be inverted using Jabra Direct. The default orientation is Normal.
- Video Adjustments: Image quality settings and pan/tilt/zoom camera adjustments can be customized using Jabra Direct. These adjustments are temporary and reset to default values when the computer is unplugged from the camera or Hub. To access these settings, click the Jabra Direct icon in the Windows system tray or macOS menu bar, then click the settings icon next to Jabra PanaCast.
LED Indicators:
- Blinking blue LEDs: Camera is initializing or rebooting.
- Solid blue LEDs: Camera is in standby mode or not in use.
- Solid white LEDs: Camera is streaming.
Usage with Video Conferencing Applications:
The Jabra PanaCast is certified for Microsoft Teams and compatible with Skype for Business, Zoom, Cisco Webex, and others. For optimal performance, it may need to be manually selected as the default video device within the application's video settings.
- Microsoft Teams: Launch Teams, click the account profile icon, go to Settings > Devices, and select Jabra PanaCast under Camera. Also, select the preferred speaker/headset under Audio Devices.

Maintenance and Care:
- The Jabra PanaCast is designed for indoor use only.

- Do not expose the camera, hub, or cables to rain or other liquids.
- Do not position the camera near monitor or TV vents, as this can cause overheating and malfunction.
- It is normal for the camera to become warm to the touch due to its multiple processors operating at an elevated temperature. This is within safety operating requirements and does not affect the camera's lifespan.
