8.18 CHARGING THE BATTERY _____________________________________________
Read the battery charger manual for specified instructions on the operation of
the battery charger.
Remove the battery from the mower before you charge the battery. Check the
level of the electrolyte is above the plates in all of the cells, unless the battery is
a closed unit.
Make sure the battery charger is turned OFF, then connect the battery charger
to the battery terminals as shown in the battery charger manual.
Always turn OFF the battery charger before you disconnect the battery charger from the battery terminals.
WARNING
The battery can release hydrogen gas that is explosive. Work in an area with good ventilation and
shield from any type of ignition.
Always connect the negative jumper cable to the frame of the mower with the drained battery.
