Special cases: summer and winter times
In certain countries, local time moves forward
by an hour during the summer months. Your
Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Geographic WT watch,
which is mechanically programmed, does not
take these local specificities into account.
In order to factor these in, the city disc of
your Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Geographic WT
displays a “     ” symbol to the left of each city
affected by summer time. This function makes
it possible to read summer time, if applicable.
The diagram overleaf illustrates this system:
Athens, Paris, and London are cities whose time
zones apply summer time. Consequently, the
” symbol to their left suggests summer time.
For example, as Paris summer time, corresponds
to winter time in Athens, the “
” symbol for Paris
is positioned above the Athens time zone on
the city disc and indicates French summer time.
However, the Dubai time zone does not apply
summer time; there is therefore no symbol.
