Do you have a question about the Jaeger-leCoultre REVERSO ONE and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The device described in the manual is a Jaeger-LeCoultre watch, specifically models from the REVERSO ONE, REVERSO ONE RÉÉDITION, and REVERSO ONE CORDONNET collections. These are high-precision quartz timepieces designed for daily wear.

Function Description:

The primary function of the Jaeger-LeCoultre watch is timekeeping, displaying hours and minutes. The watch features a crown for setting the time. The REVERSO ONE CORDONNET model also includes a bracelet that can be adjusted for length.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Movement: Quartz movement, Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 657.
  • Frequency: 32,768 Hz.
  • Battery: Battery reference 364.
  • Accuracy: Quartz models are accurate to within 2 to 3 minutes a year.
  • Water Resistance: Water-resistant to 3 bar, corresponding to an immersion pressure of 30 meters (1 bar = ±10 meters). Water resistance is indicated by a symbol and/or the engraving "3 bar" (or another number depending on the model) on the caseback. This water resistance is guaranteed for two years from the date of purchase, provided the glass, bezel, back, middle part, and crown have not been damaged. Leather straps are not suited for aquatic activities.
  • "1000 Hours Control" Test: Each watch undergoes a series of internal qualification tests and production tests that go beyond official timing tests. These include checks of the movement before and after being cased up, and cover the whole watch once assembled, in conditions closest to daily wear. These tests ensure regularity of rate, resistance to variations in temperature and atmospheric pressure, ability to withstand shocks and magnetic fields, as well as water resistance. The "1000 Hours Control" legend or seal engraved on the back of the watch certifies that it has successfully undergone all qualification and production tests.

Usage Features:

  • Time Setting: To set the hours and minutes, pull the crown out to position 1. Move the hands clockwise until the desired time is displayed. Once complete, push the crown back to position 0.
  • Bracelet Adjustment (REVERSO ONE CORDONNET): For optimal adjustment, it is recommended to contact a Jaeger-LeCoultre boutique, an authorised retailer, or an authorised Technical Assistance Centre. If adjusting the bracelet length yourself, specific tools are recommended:
    • To open the clasp: A corrector tool (reference JLQE640895, available from the Manufacture) or a stick with a plastic end to avoid scratching. To open, place the tool's extremity in the opening area, pull up the clasp, then release it. Remove the bracelet from the clasp, being careful not to lose the linked ring.
    • To cut the strands: A tool with a sharp blade, ideally a cigar cutter (available in specialised boutiques, not from the Manufacture). The cigar-shaped blades help keep the bracelet in place while cutting. Each strand of the bracelet is independent and joined symmetrically by the clasp; ensure each strand is cut to the same length. Determine the required length and cut the bracelet accordingly.
    • Reassembling the bracelet and clasp: Place as much of the bracelet as possible into the clasp, then close the clasp. Repeat for the other length.
  • Water Resistance Precautions:
    • Have the watch's water resistance checked by an authorised Jaeger-LeCoultre retailer at least once every two years, and before any period of prolonged or regular immersions.
    • Check that the bracelet is suitable for the intended use when purchasing.
    • Avoid subjecting the watch to excessively abrupt temperature changes.
    • Protect the watch from drops or accidental impacts; have water resistance checked after any severe impact.
    • Avoid using controls, push-pieces, or the time-setting crown underwater or when the watch is not dry after immersion.
    • Restore the time-setting crown and push-pieces to their normal positions (or close compression keys) after every manipulation.
    • Rinse the watch with fresh water after use in seawater.
    • The watch can be used while swimming, provided immersion pressure is not exceeded and no water sports causing impacts are engaged in. It is not diving equipment.

Maintenance Features:

  • General Maintenance: A Jaeger-LeCoultre timepiece is a high-precision instrument requiring regular servicing to guarantee its good working order and durability. If significant variations occur in the settings, the movement may need servicing.
  • Water Resistance Check: The watch's water resistance must be checked once every two years, or prior to any period of prolonged and/or regular immersion.
  • Authorised Service: Maintenance and repair work must be entrusted to an authorised Jaeger-LeCoultre retailer, a Jaeger-LeCoultre Boutique, or an authorised Jaeger-LeCoultre Service Centre. A list of points of sale and service centres is available on the Jaeger-LeCoultre website.
  • Specialised Repairs: In cases requiring special tools and parts, Service Centres will send the watch to the Jaeger-LeCoultre Manufacture in Switzerland for necessary work.
  • Care for Leather Straps:
    • Keep the leather strap in a dry place.
    • Avoid contact with water, cosmetics, perfumes, alcohol, and oily materials.
    • To prevent discolouration, avoid wearing the watch in highly humid environments, during sporting activities (sweat damages leather), or in prolonged exposure to sunlight.
    • Wipe with a dry and soft fabric; do not dry in direct sunlight or near heat sources.
  • Battery Life: For quartz watches, the guarantee does not cover battery life.
  • Warranty:
    • International Guarantee: Applies to products sold or presented for guarantee repairs in all countries, except the United States of America, Canada, and Australia. Valid for two years from the date of purchase against manufacturing defects, provided the guarantee certificate is duly completed, dated, stamped, and signed by an authorised retailer or boutique. Does not cover defects from accidents, mishandling, abusive use, non-designated batteries, unauthorised alteration/repair, normal wear and ageing, or loss of water resistance after two years (if water-resistant) or any defect from water contact (if not water-resistant).
    • Limited Warranty (United States of America and Canada): Applies only to products sold or presented for warranty repairs in these countries. Terms are similar to the International Guarantee, covering manufacturing defects for two years. Exclusions are also similar. This is the exclusive manufacturer warranty, and other implied warranties are limited to the two-year period.
    • Guarantee for Australia: Applies only to products purchased or presented for guarantee repairs in Australia. This guarantee provides additional rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including replacement or refund for major failures, and repair or replacement for goods not of acceptable quality. Covers defects of materials or workmanship for up to two years. Exclusions are similar to the International Guarantee. Transportation costs may be the responsibility of the consumer if claiming under this guarantee instead of Mandatory Statutory Rights. Claims can be sent to Richemont Australia Pty Ltd.
