FOREWORD

PLANNING AND PREPARATION

BE SURE ALL EQUIPMENT IS SERVICED AND READY FOR TRAVEL.

Check all fluids, inspect wheel lugs, check generator oil, secure jack and wrench, check 115-volt cord, fire extinguisher, verify items.

Put motor home contents in 'travel' condition.

Secure loose objects, refrigerator, cabinets, and exterior doors for safe travel.

READY TO LEAVE

STARTING AND WARMUP

Follow Chassis Manual for engine start/operation. Ensure neutral/park and parking brake engagement.

SAFETY BELTS

Seat belts are vital. Ensure all belts are fastened while the motor home is in motion.

ON THE ROAD

DRIVING AND PARKING

Maneuver cautiously, allow extra room for turns/lanes, and check side mirrors frequently.

OVERHEATING

Operate and service engine/cooling system per Chassis Operator's Manual recommendations.

WINDSHIELD DEFROST - COMFORT CONTROL

Maintain clear windshield and comfortable cabin temperature using heater and defroster.

12-VOLT FUSE REPLACEMENT

Check automotive circuit fuses if the vehicle electrical system fails. Fuses are automotive-type.

CHANGING A TIRE

Consult Chassis Manual for tire changing. Note vehicle weight and lug nut torque for safety.

SERVICING

ENGINE SERVICE

Exterior service includes battery, radiator, oil. Interior access for transmission dipstick and air cleaner.

BATTERY SERVICE

Service the 12-volt automotive battery and auxiliary 12-volt battery for living-area power.

GENERATOR POWER PLANT SYSTEM SERVICE

Perform generator power plant service at an authorized center per manufacturer's recommendations.

PLUMBING

FRESH WATER

Fresh water supply comes from city hookup or an on-board tank with pump pressure.

EXTERNAL WATER SUPPLY (SEE FIGURE 5)

Connect to city water supply by turning pump off, removing cap, and connecting hose.

FILLING FRESH WATER SUPPLY

On-board pump provides pressure. Do not run pump without water in the system to prevent damage.

Empty holding tank into disposal area using a sewer hose. Ensure tank is relatively full for effective dumping.

ELECTRICAL

115-VOLT SYSTEM POWER CONVERTER (INSIDE)

Use the 25-foot power-supply cord to connect to a 115-volt power source for appliances.

12-VOLT SYSTEM

12-volt power for lights and appliances is supplied by the vehicle or auxiliary battery.

12-VOLT FUSES

Locate 12-volt fuses in the Electrical control panel behind an access panel in the living area.

AUXILIARY 12-VOLT BATTERY

The auxiliary battery powers living-area needs, and the alternator charges both batteries.

AUXILIARY GENERATOR POWER PLANT (OP- TIONAL)

The optional generator provides 115-volt power. Refer to manufacturer's manual for service.

ROOF AIR CONDITIONER (OPTIONAL)

Optional roof AC units use 115-volt power and have controls for airflow and temperature.

STANDARD AUTOMOTIVE AIR CONDITIONER (OP- TIONAL)

Optional automotive AC adds load to the vehicle's cooling system. Shut off if engine overheats.

LIQUID PETROLEUM GAS SYSTEM

USING YOUR LP GAS SYSTEM AT LOW TEMPERA- TURES:

Maintain appliance function at low temps by managing component temperature and using appropriate gas types.

OPERATION OF LP GAS SYSTEM

Operates from removable or chassis tanks. Procedures for valve operation and relighting pilot lights.

FILLING THE CHASSIS-MOUNTED LP GAS TANK

Fill chassis-mounted tank at an LP gas supplier or service station. Keep vehicle 25 feet away.

LP GAS SYSTEM LEAK CHECKS

Check for leaks with soap solution before each trip or refill. Never use an open flame for checks.

LP GAS APPLIANCES

Range Top and Oven

Use range hood fan when cooking. Avoid using open flames to warm the living area.

Radiant Heater

LP gas radiant heater operation. Refer to manufacturer's instructions for lighting and use.

Forced Air Furnace

Furnace controls include a wall-mount thermostat for temperature regulation.

Water Heater

LP gas water heater. Ensure it is filled with water before lighting to prevent damage.

LP gas/electric Refrigerator

Refrigerator has separate LP gas/electric controls. Ensure vehicle is level for proper cooling.

EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

CABINET BUNK

Convert overhead bunk to a bed by unfolding panels and cushions.

PEDESTAL DINETTE TABLES

Convert dinette table to a bed by removing top and pedestals.

PULL-OUT (GAUCHO) BEDS

Convert pull-out seat to a bed by extending tray and unfolding cushions.

STORAGE

Secure items in compartments. Place heavy articles low and between axles for weight distribution.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

INTERIOR CLEANING

Clean draperies, cushions, upholstery, paneling, and fixtures using appropriate methods.

CONDENSATION AND VENTILATION

Maintain air circulation via ventilation. Keep bathroom door closed after showering to remove moisture.

EXTERIOR CARE

Clean exterior metal/trim with water/wax. Inspect and seal roof for water tightness.

Repairs

Dealer handles warranted appliance repairs. Refer to Chassis Manual for chassis service.
