HELMET AND CLOTHING
Always ride defensively and wear protective equipment such as a motorcycle helmet, eye protection, abrasion resistant
or armored jacket and pants, boots with ankle support or armor, and riding gloves. There are a multitude of additional items for
increased safety in the event of a crash, and Janus Motorcycles recommends you take your riding apparel seriously. Janus recommends that
all riders wear All The Gear All The Time, or “ATGAT. In the event of an accident, proper riding gear can mean the difference between life and
death. A motorcycle does not give the same impact protection as a car. Although full protection is not possible, wearing correct protective
clothing can reduce the risk of injury when riding. Brightly colored clothing will increase the rider and passenger’s visibility to other motorists.
A helmet is the single most important piece of protective riding gear because it offers protection against head injuries. You and
any passengers helmets should be carefully selected for fit and comfort. Open face helmets offer some protection, however, a full face helmet
offers valuable protection of the face and jaw in the event of an accident. A brightly colored helmet will increase the rider and passenger’s visibility
to other motorists. There are a multitude of styles and types of helmets and Janus recommends that you take special care with the selection of
your helmet.
