This document outlines the instructions for a steam cleaner, a device designed for domestic cleaning and sterilization using steam.
The steam cleaner's primary function is to clean and disinfect various surfaces using high-pressure steam. It operates by heating water in a tank to produce steam, which is then expelled through various nozzles and accessories to tackle dirt, grime, and germs. The device is intended for household use and is not suitable for outdoor applications or exposure to harsh climatic agents. Its design emphasizes safety, with features like a safety threaded cap and a pilot light to indicate operation. The steam cleaner is capable of sterilizing surfaces, making it useful for maintaining hygiene in different areas of the home.
The steam cleaner is designed for straightforward operation, though adherence to safety warnings is crucial. To begin, the cleaner should be placed on a flat surface. The safety cap is unscrewed, and a funnel is used to add clean water to the tank. The maximum water capacity is 300ml, but it's recommended not to exceed 175ml to ensure empty space within the tank. Once filled, the safety cap is securely replaced, and the appliance is connected to the mains electricity, at which point the pilot light will illuminate.
Steam generation takes approximately 6 minutes. After this period, the steam push-button can be pressed to check for proper steam emission from the nozzle. Accessories, such as the nozzle with brush, angle nozzle, or long nozzle, can then be installed. It is critical to install accessories only when the appliance is disconnected from the mains electricity and has cooled down sufficiently. Care must be taken not to press the steam push-button during accessory installation to prevent accidental steam spray.
For continuous operation, the steam push-button is pressed to initiate cleaning tasks. To disinfect and sterilize, the long nozzle can be inserted into the short nozzle and directed towards the target area, followed by pressing the steam button.
Refilling the tank during operation requires a specific procedure to ensure safety. First, the appliance must be disconnected from the mains electricity. The steam push-button is then pressed to release all internal pressure until no steam is emitted. The safety cap should be unscrewed very slowly, but not removed immediately, as residual steam may still be present. The cap must remain in place until all steam has been released. If the cap is difficult to unscrew due to high internal pressure, the steam button should be pressed repeatedly to fully release the steam. After all steam has been released, the cleaner should be placed on a cold surface for about five minutes to cool down before the safety cap can be safely removed. The funnel and filler vessel are then used to top up the water tank, and the safety cap is securely replaced.
Throughout operation, it is important to ensure that hands are dry and footwear is worn before plugging in the cleaner. Anti-oxidants, alcohol, or any other non-recommended products should never be added to the tank, as they can cause damage. The tank should never be overfilled to prevent excess steam pressure. The appliance should be unplugged when refilling, changing accessories (after cooling), finishing use, or during an electricity cut. The cleaner should never be tilted more than 45 degrees while in use, and steam outlets on both the appliance and accessories must remain unobstructed. The steam jet should never be aimed at animals, persons, or garments being worn, as it can cause burns.
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and correct functioning of the steam cleaner. After each use, the appliance should be disconnected from the mains electricity supply. The steam push-button should be pressed until all internal pressure and steam have been released. Similar to refilling, the cleaner should then be placed on a cold surface for approximately five minutes to cool down before the safety cap is removed.
Any remaining water in the tank should be emptied. The external surface of the cleaner can be wiped clean with a dry cloth. The safety cap must be replaced and screwed down tightly after cleaning. It is crucial never to immerse the appliance or any part of it in water or under a faucet.
For safety and optimal performance, only JOCCA spare parts and accessories should be used. The power cable should always be completely unrolled to prevent overheating. If the power supply cable, plug, or adaptor is damaged, or if the appliance has fallen into water or any other liquid, it should not be used or repaired by the user. Instead, it should be taken directly to an authorized JOCCA technical service for replacement. The appliance is completely switched off only when unplugged from the mains.
