  • Opening and Closing: The parasol canopy is opened by pushing the support pole upward and securing it by turning a mechanism clockwise. The canopy is then fully extended by inserting the crank handle into the pole and turning it clockwise. To close, the crank handle is turned anti-clockwise.
  • Canopy Strap: A canopy strap is provided to fasten around the frame when the canopy is open, reducing movement. It must be unfastened before taking the canopy down.
  • Safety Warnings:
    • The parasol should only be used on firm, level ground.
    • It is not designed to withstand wind and windy conditions; ribs can break.
    • It should not be left up overnight or in windy/inclement weather.
    • When not in use, the parasol canopy should be closed and covered with a parasol cover (not included but recommended).
    • Store away when cold, wet, and windy weather conditions are expected.
    • Never leave water in the base when freezing conditions are expected, as this will damage the base.
    • Do not stand or jump on the base.
    • If windy, it is recommended to take the umbrella down to avoid tipping and ribs snapping.
    • When the base is filled with water or sand, it becomes heavy; avoid moving and dropping it.
    • Exercise care when folding, unfolding, and adjusting positions to avoid pinched or trapped fingers.
    • Do not excessively tilt or sway the canopy.
    • Do not hang items from or swing from the canopy, as this will cause tipping.
    • The product is for domestic use only.
    • Incorrect assembly can be dangerous; assembly should be carried out by a competent person.
    • Never drag the parasol when moving it; always lift it.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: The parasol should be cleaned at the beginning and end of each season. Use mild soap and water to remove dirt. Never use abrasive chemicals or cleaning agents. Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry completely. Bird droppings and tree sap should be cleaned off immediately.
  • Storage: To extend product life and appearance, it is recommended to store the parasol in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place (e.g., garage or shed) over winter or during periods of unseasonal weather. Ensure the parasol is clean and completely dry before storage. Do not enclose the product in plastic or other non-permeable material, as this promotes rust and mould. Cover it with a dust sheet or furniture cover that allows air to circulate.
  • Fixings Inspection: Periodically check all fixings (screws, bolts) to ensure none have come loose and re-tighten where necessary. Do not overtighten bolts, screws, or the crank, as this can damage the mechanism.
  • General Care: Take care when handling or moving the parasol to avoid damage or injury. Ensure the cross base remains in contact with the ground at all times.
