Getting started
Thank you for purchasing this John Lewis & Partners product. For your safety,
and to make sure everything is working properly, please read the instructions
carefully before use.
Warnings
This is a Class 1 product and must be earthed.
Please read these instructions carefully before commencing any work. It is recommended
that this tting is installed by a qualied electrician.
Install in accordance with the IEE Wiring regulations and the Building Regulations.
To prevent electric shock switch off at mains supply before installing or maintaining this
tting. Ensure other persons cannot restore the electrical supply without your knowledge.
If you are in any doubt, please consult a qualied electrician.
This light tting should be connected to a 5 amp fused circuit.
If replacing an existing tting, make a note of the connections.
This product is rated IP44 and is suitable for outdoor use.
This product is suitable for installation on surfaces with normal ammability
e.g. wood, plasterboard, masonry. It is not suitable for use on highly ammable
surfaces (e.g. polystyrene, textiles).
This product contains delicate parts – be careful during handling and maintenance
to avoid breakage.
For your safety, always switch off the supply before changing lightbulbs, cleaning
or removing shades. Always take care when handling lightbulbs to avoid injury in
case of breakage.

Product assembly
Step 1
Refer to assembly diagrams right. Carefully unpack the carton,
making sure all the parts are present before assembly.
Step 2
Remove the shade (A) from the product by undoing
top (B) and bottom (C) screws and washers. Save for
retting later. Remove the xing bracket (D) from the
tting by removing nials and rubber washers (E).
Step 3
Using the xing bracket as a template, mark the position of
the mounting holes. Drill holes and t supplied wall plugs (F).
Take care not to damage any wiring or pipes when drilling
the holes.
Step 4
Secure the xing bracket to the wall using the screws (G)
supplied. Ensure the wall is capable of holding the weight
of the product.
Step 5
Having identied the household wiring from your existing
light tting, connect to the connection block inside the
product in the following way (H):
Check that: You have correctly identied the house wires.
The connections are tight.
No loose strands have been left out of the connection block.
The lid and seal is closed securely over the teminal block
Step 6
Re-attach the product to the xing bracket by locating the
screw holes over the screws and replacing the rubber
washers and the nials (E) and tightening them securely.
Step 7
Fit the recommended bulb (I) as per the details overleaf.
Step 8
Ret the shade onto the light tting ensuring drain hole (J)
is at the bottom. Ret top (B) and bottom (C) washers
and screws and tighten to secure.
Step 9
Turn on the power and test.
