Activity must always be done in the presence of a responsible adult. Keep children and animals away.
Wash hands, clean equipment, no eating/drinking/smoking, avoid contact with body, store kit safely.
Use newspaper to protect the work surface during the activity.
Requires a plate, a large saucepan, and a small saucepan or tin cans.
Includes a wooden spoon and a soup spoon.
Press firmly at the joining points to clip the two mould parts together securely.
Insert the wick with the top facing downwards; the metal base rests on the plastic support.
Heat wax by placing a container with wax in a larger saucepan of gently simmering water.
Break coloured pastel sticks into small pieces and mix with the wax for intense colour.
Warning that the wax must not exceed 70°C. Test by dipping a spoon.
Place the mould on newsprint or newspaper to protect the work surface from spills.
Carefully pour the melted wax into the mould, asking an adult for assistance if needed.
Allow the poured wax to cool and harden completely for several hours.
Tips include filling hollows with more wax and removing wax stains by scratching after drying.
Melt wax of your choice and pour it onto a plate.
Once cooled, cut shapes using cutters and then place the wicks.
Melt different wax colours separately and pour them into the mould in layers.
Wait for each wax layer to harden before adding the next to prevent colours from mixing.
