Operating JUE-250
After the ADE is securely mounted, LaunchPad installed,
SIM card inserted, and all cables properly connected, start
the JUE-250 by pressing down the power toggle switch on
the BDE front panel.
All LED lights will light up. After self- check and satellite
found (by automatic tracking system), READY green light
will be steady and other lights off (system normal). The
JRC special handset LED screen will show
Double click the LaunchPad icon on your PC screen. It
will ask user to enter PIN code (furnished by your DP) for
the SIM card. Service will become available after PIN
code verified. Click the “Connect” icon on the upper left
corner to activate Standard or Streaming data services.
Making Calls
Voice Calls: Users may dial out from ship to shore using
any one of the phones connected to TEL1, TEL2, or Handset
port

. User may also call ISDN high quality voice via Audio
port using an ISDN phone (at a higher charge rate). Dialing
sequence for ship originated voice call is listed below.

Fax Calls: Users may send fax from ship to shore
using a G3 fax machine connected to TEL1, TEL2, or Audio

Note that the fax call is actually routed through the ISDN
3.1KHz audio channel and will be charged at ISDN rate – not
the same rate as the voice call through TEL1 or TEL2 port.
The dialing sequence for fax call is the same as voice call
except the ending keys are “*” and “#” not just “#” sign.
Standard Packet Data Calls: JUE-250 users may browse
internet, send emails, transfer files, and/or chat on web
through Inmarsat FBB packet data network and be charged by
the amount of data transceived – not by the time spent online.
FB250 standard packet data services can operate at up to 284
kbit/s on a best effort basis (the carrier bandwidth is hsared by
other usesrs/vessels operating in the same satellite spot beam).
To activate this service, click the icon “Standard Connect” on
the LaunchPad (STATUS window must show Standard Data
connections OPEN first). After the service has been activated,
connect to the Internet as usual. To disconnect, click the
“Disconnect Standard” icon.
