Function Description
The JUKI LZ-2280B series comprises industrial sewing machines primarily designed for zigzag stitching. The LZ-2280B model performs standard zigzag stitching, while the LZ-2284B offers selectable standard zigzag and 3-step zigzag stitching. The LZ-2287B provides selectable 3-step zigzag stitching and 24-stitch standard scallop zigzag stitching. These machines are equipped with an AC servomotor (550 W) for precise control.
Key functions include:
- Zigzag Stitching: The primary function, with adjustable width and various patterns depending on the model.
- Thread Trimming: An automatic function to cut threads at the end of a sewing cycle.
- Reverse Feed Stitching: Allows for back-tacking at the beginning and end of sewing, or during the sewing process, for reinforcement.

Usage Features
- Installation: Requires two persons to carry the machine head. Proper installation of the oil pan, pedal sensor, and head support rod is crucial. EU-type models require installation of a reactor box.
- Needle Installation: The needle must be inserted deep into the needle bar with the long groove facing the operator, then securely tightened.
- Threading: Clear instructions are provided for threading the machine head and winding the bobbin thread, including specific guidance for slippery threads.
- Adjustments:
- Pedal: Adjustable connecting rod length and inclination for operator comfort.
- Thread Tension: Main needle thread tension, pre-tension, and bobbin thread tension are adjustable.
- Zigzag Width: Adjusted via a knob with a scale indicating width in mm.
- Presser Foot Pressure: Adjusted by turning a presser spring regulator.
