STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION
1. The equipment should be stored in the packaging provided in dry, clean conditions away from direct sunlight, sources of high
temperature, petrol and solvent vapours.
2. Do not store outside the temperature range - 10°C to +50°C or with humidity above 90%.
3. When stored as stated, the expected shelf life of the product is 5 years from date of manufacture.
4. The original packaging is suitable for transporting the product throughout the European Economic Community.

In use
Use in the ‘power-off state is not normal, little or no protection is provided and a build up of carbon dioxide and depletion
of oxygen within the headtop may occur, vacate the contaminated area immediately.
1. Take care to prevent the breathing tube from becoming looped around protruding objects.
2. If during use the airflow into the headtop stops, is reduced and the alarm sounds or if odour is detected, vacate the contaminated
area immediately and investigate the cause (please see fault finding).
3. The ‘in-use’ life of the product will vary with frequency and conditions of use.
4. In everyday use, it is recommended that the product is discarded after approximately 5 years service, provided the product is
stored as stated below. Some extreme conditions may result in deterioration over a shorter period.
Doffing
Do not remove the headtop or turn off the air filter unit until you have vacated the contaminated area.
1. Lift the headtop off the head.
2. Turn off the air filter unit.
3. Unbuckle the waistbelt.
NOTE:
If the respirator has been used in an area that has caused it to become contaminated with a substance requiring special
decontamination procedures it should be placed in a suitable container and sealed until it can be decontaminated.
CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
Do not clean in a Potentially Explosive Atmosphere.
• Use a clean cloth dampened with a mild solution of water and liquid household soap.
• Do not use petrol, chlorinated degreasing fluids (such as trichloroethylene), organic solvents or abrasive cleaning agents to clean
any part of the equipment.
• To disinfect, use 3M 105 wipes as detailed in Reference leaflet.
MAINTENANCE
Please see Fig. 8. Do not attempt any servicing operations, other than those described in Figs. 1-9.
Maintenance, servicing and repair must only be carried out by properly trained personnel.
Use of unapproved parts or unauthorised modification could result in danger to life or health and can invalidate any warranty.
