4.9 Maintenance
4.9.1 Restart
The Compact Reader is restarted after a restart. Saved parameter settings and data are retained.
The restart takes around 3 s.
1. Switch the power off and on again.
Light symbol off
The access point is blocked
2. After the restart, the light symbol turns green (on) again
- Access point ready for bookings again
4.9.2 Factory reset
With a factory reset, the Compact Reader is reset to its basic state, i.e., the parameter settings and
data are deleted and reset to their initial values (factory settings).
The factory reset takes around 3 s. The access point is blocked for the entire time.
Task Illumination unit/Compact Reade
1. Switch off the power supply on the Compact Reader
2. Set DIP switch 6 to ON
3. Switch on the power supply at the Compact Reader
(in the case of an uninterrupted power supply, changing the status of
DIP switch 6 has no effect)
2x short beeps, then
red/green flashing
4. Switch off the power supply at the Compact Reader,
set DIP switch 6 to OFF, and switch the power supply for the
Compact Reader on again
5. Compact Reader is in operation again
Green on
6. The current parameters of the parent control unit are downloaded if
there is an online connection
- Access point ready for bookings again
