4.9.3 Firmware / LEGIC OS update
An update can be carried out two different ways:
 with the service tool via access manager (via Ethernet and the RS-485 interface)
 with the programmer 1460 and the Kaba Evolo Service Tool

4.9.3.1 Firmware / LEGIC OS update with Access Manager
The conditions and the requirements for an update with the service tool via access manager (via
Ethernet and the RS-485 interface) are explained in this chapter.
The actual update with the service tool is described in detail in RM_Access_Manager.
4.9.3.2 Firmware / LEGIC OS update with Programmer 1460
Firmware updates can only be performed with the Kaba evolo Service Tool and
Kaba Programmer 1460. All the parameter settings and data in the Compact Reader are reset or
deleted. The firmware update lasts around 3 s.

Requirements
 Install the FTDI driver (based on the operating system) for Kaba Programmer 1460
(FTDI CDM supports D2XX and VCP functionality) http://www.ftdichip.com/FTDrivers.htm
 Install Microsoft .Net Framework 4 Client Profile http://www.microsoft.com/net/
 Install the Kaba evolo Service Tool ≥ V 2.1.2
 Both the Kaba evolo Service Tool and Kaba Programmer 1460 must be used
 Save the required firmware option to Kaba programmer 1460 using the Kaba evolo Service Tool
