How to troubleshoot no power to pump or vac motor in my Kaivac Other?
    • N
      Nicholas ColemanAug 13, 2025
If there's no power to the pump or vacuum motor, start by checking if the machine is properly plugged in and the switches are in the “on” position. Also, test and reset the GFCI. Inspect the building circuit to ensure it's not overloaded and reset it if necessary. If these steps don't resolve the issue, disconnect the power and check for any loose wires on the switches or under the panel.

Why does my Kaivac 1250 Other have an electrical burning smell?
    • D
      David WolfAug 29, 2025
An electrical burning smell could indicate worn vacuum motor brushes, in which case you should remove the vacuum motor and have it repaired. It could also mean the vacuum motor or pump motor is hung up. Try releasing pressure on the hose and jogging the vac or pump switch. If that doesn't work, consider replacing the motor.

What to do if the wheels on my Kaivac Other won't roll or are rubbing?
    • C
      Christopher BarnesSep 1, 2025
If the wheels aren't rolling smoothly, start by inflating the tires to 30 p.s.i. Check the axle for any debris wrapped around it. Grease the bearings if they are tight. If the wheels are too loose on the axle, remove the wheel and add washers to take up the slack. Replace the bearing assembly if the bearings are falling out.

What to do if there is no chemical flow in my Kaivac 1250 Other?
    • T
      Troy SullivanNov 16, 2025
If you're experiencing no chemical flow, first, ensure that the chemical tank is not empty and refill if needed. Check that the safety cap is secure and tightened. Verify the chemical valve is in the “on” position. Also, ensure the spray gun is in the correct mode (pulled out away from gun chemical mode). Inspect the metering tip for any clogs. If these steps don't work, remove the safety cap from the chemical and blow small amounts of compressed air into the line to clear any blockage in the injector. Check for air entering the system around chemical lines or the injector. If a fluttering or pulsing sound is heard while spraying or when the machine is running, the injector may be installed backwards; remove and reinstall it. Finally, inspect the chemical line for any kinks and replace if ...

Why is the vacuum weak on my Kaivac 1250 Other?
    • C
      Calvin WhitneyNov 20, 2025
A weak vacuum could be due to several reasons. First, check if the vacuum tank is full and empty it if necessary. Inspect the squeegee blades or wheels for wear and replace them if needed. Ensure the float shutoff screen is clean by spraying it off. Also, check if the float ball is stuck and try to release or clean it. Inspect the hose for damage and repair or replace it. Make sure the dump hose plug is in place; if missing, contact your dealer for a replacement. Tighten the access lid. Flush the vacuum hose to remove any debris. Allow air in when vacuuming if there's too much liquid in the vacuum hose. Unwrap the vacuum hose fully. If the exhaust is plugged, remove the HEPA filter and clean it. If there's a leak in the vacuum tank, clean and dry the affected area and seal it with silicone...

How to fix low water pressure from the pump on my Kaivac 1250 Other?
    • A
      Andrea JonesNov 23, 2025
If you're experiencing low water pressure, begin by ensuring the water tank is full. Check the gun nozzle for any blockages and clean it with an Allen wrench. If there's air in the pump (vapor lock), use the power prime technique. Verify the gun orifice is present; replace it if missing. Clean the water tank filter and the in-line bowl filter if they are plugged. Gently tighten the bowl cover if it's loose. Inspect the pressure hose and pulse hose for damage and repair or replace them. Tighten or replace any leaking quick disconnects. To address a plugged injector, remove the safety cap from the chemical and blow small amounts of compressed air into the line. Replace the regulator if it has failed. Unkink any kinked hoses and check for damage. Finally, replace the seals in the pump if need...
