Overview

The KAKA® Industrial SJ-320 is a robust slip roll machine designed for forming rolls from various materials, primarily steel plates, with precision and safety. This manual provides comprehensive instructions for its operation, maintenance, and safety precautions, ensuring users can effectively utilize the machine while minimizing risks.

Function Description

The primary function of the KAKA® Industrial SJ-320 is to bend and form metal sheets into cylindrical or conical shapes. It achieves this through a system of three shafts: Shaft 1 (#6), Shaft 2 (#10), and Shaft 3 (#9). The material to be rolled is inserted between Shaft 1 and Shaft 3. The distance between Shaft 1 and Shaft 2 can be adjusted using Adjusting Bolts (#12) and (#4) to control the radius of the bend. By rotating the Handle (#19/#20), the gears (#5) drive the shafts, progressively bending the material. The machine allows for the creation of various roll diameters by adjusting the position of Shaft 2 relative to the other shafts. Once the rolling process is complete, the Fixing bolt (#8), Adjusting bolt (#13), and Screw M6X22 (#14) are loosened, and the pressing plate (#15) is rotated to a semicircle position, allowing Shaft 1 to be pushed up for easy removal of the formed steel plate from the right side of the machine.

Usage Features

The KAKA® Industrial SJ-320 is designed for ease of use and safety, with several key features facilitating its operation:

  • Bench Mounting: The machine's base (#24) is designed to be securely bolted to a workbench, ensuring stability during operation and preventing movement that could lead to inaccuracies or accidents.
  • Adjustable Shafts: The ability to adjust the distance between Shaft 1 and Shaft 2 is crucial for controlling the roll's diameter. This adjustment is made by turning the Adjusting Bolts (#12) and (#4) clockwise to decrease the distance (for smaller rolls) or counterclockwise to increase it (for larger rolls).
  • Manual Operation: The machine is operated manually via the Handle (#19/#20), which drives the gears and shafts. This provides the operator with direct control over the rolling process.
  • Material Insertion and Removal: The design allows for straightforward insertion of steel plates between Shaft 1 and Shaft 3. After rolling, the loosening of specific bolts and rotation of the pressing plate facilitate easy removal of the finished roll.
  • Safety Warnings: The manual emphasizes critical safety precautions, including keeping hands away from shafts and metal plates during operation, and only forming rolls from specified materials. It also covers general workshop safety, such as maintaining a clean work area, using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and avoiding operation under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Maintenance Features

Proper maintenance is essential for the longevity and safe operation of the KAKA® Industrial SJ-320. The manual outlines several key maintenance aspects:

  • Pre-Operation Checks: Before each use, operators are instructed to check the machine's mounting and adjustment. This includes verifying that the two gears (#5) have good, firm contact and that Shafts 1, 2, and 3 are clean and free of metal debris.
  • Tool Care: General tool maintenance guidelines are provided, such as keeping tools sharp and clean for better and safer performance, and following instructions for lubricating and changing accessories. Handles should be kept clean, dry, and free from oil and grease.
  • Damaged Parts Inspection: Regular inspection for damaged parts is crucial. Before using the tool, any part that appears damaged should be carefully checked to ensure it will operate properly. This includes checking for alignment and binding of moving parts, broken parts, mounting fixtures, and any other condition that might affect operation. Damaged parts should be repaired or replaced by a qualified technician.
  • Replacement Parts and Accessories: The manual stresses the importance of using only identical replacement parts and approved accessories to maintain the warranty and ensure safe operation. These are available from the distributor.
  • Storage: When not in use, the machine and its tools should be stored in a dry location to prevent rust and kept out of reach of children.
  • Service Record: A dedicated "SERVICE RECORD" section is included in the manual, allowing users to log maintenance performed and repair components required, facilitating a systematic approach to machine upkeep.

By adhering to these operational and maintenance guidelines, users can ensure the KAKA® Industrial SJ-320 performs reliably and safely for its intended purpose of metal sheet rolling.
