Overview

The Kalamera Air Fryer Oven, model KAF-D18DL, is a household appliance designed for various cooking functions, including air frying, baking, broiling, and dehydrating. It operates on a voltage range of 110-120V/60Hz and has a power consumption of 1500W, drawing 12.5A.

Important Safety Instructions:

Before using the appliance, it is crucial to read and follow all safety instructions to prevent hazards such as electric shock, fire, and injury.

  • Hot Surfaces: Always use handles or knobs when operating the oven, as surfaces can become hot.
  • Children: Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is used by or near children.
  • Electric Shock: To protect against electric shock, do not immerse the cord, plug, or any parts of the oven in water or other liquids.
  • Cord Safety: Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, and ensure it does not touch hot surfaces.
  • Damage: Do not operate the appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or if it malfunctions or has been damaged. Return it to an authorized service facility for examination, repair, or adjustment.

  • Ventilation: When operating, maintain at least four inches of free space on all sides of the oven for adequate air circulation.
  • Unplugging: Unplug the oven from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow it to cool before handling parts or cleaning.
  • Disconnecting: To disconnect, turn the time control to "OFF," then remove the plug. Always hold the plug, not the cord.
  • Hot Liquids: Exercise extreme caution when moving a drip pan containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
  • Foil: Do not cover any part of the oven with metal foil, as this can cause overheating.
  • Removing Hot Items: Use extreme caution when removing trays, racks, or disposing of hot grease or other hot liquids. Always wear protective, insulated air fryer oven gloves.
  • Cleaning Inside: Do not clean the inside of the oven with metal scouring pads, as pieces can break off and cause electric shock.
  • Oversized Items: Oversized foods or metal utensils must not be inserted into the oven, as they may create a fire or electric shock risk.
  • Flammable Materials: A fire may occur if the oven is covered or touches flammable materials (curtains, draperies, walls) during operation. Do not store any items on top of the appliance when in operation.
  • Cooking Containers: Exercise extreme caution when using cooking or baking containers made of anything other than metal or ovenproof glass.
  • Heating Elements: Ensure nothing touches the top or bottom heating elements.
  • Prohibited Materials: Do not place cardboard, plastic, paper, or similar materials in the oven.
  • Storage: Do not store any materials other than manufacturer's recommended accessories in the oven when not in use.
  • Glass Door: The appliance has a tempered safety glass door, which is stronger but can still break around edges. Avoid scratching or nicking the door surface.
  • Power Off: The appliance is "OFF" when the Timer Control button is in the "OFF" position.
  • Outdoor Use: Do not use the appliance outdoors.
  • Intended Use: Do not use the appliance for purposes other than its intended use.

Before First Use:

  1. Read the entire instruction manual.
  2. Ensure the air fryer oven is unplugged and the Time control is in the "OFF" position.
  3. Wash all accessories in hot, soapy water or in a dishwasher.
  4. Thoroughly dry all accessories and re-assemble them in the air fryer oven. Plug it into an outlet with the rated power supply.
  5. After re-assembly, it is recommended to run the oven at the highest temperature (230°C) on the toast function for approximately 15 minutes. This helps eliminate any packing residue and initial odors.
    • Please Note: Initial start-up may result in minimal smell and smoke (about 15 minutes), which is normal and harmless, caused by the burning of protective substances on heating elements from the factory.

Using Your Air Fryer Oven:

  1. Control Panel: The oven features a control panel with various buttons and knobs for operation.
  2. Power On: Plug in the power cord. The screen will not display anything initially. Press the "Start/Stop" button to turn on the oven. The screen will then highlight the "time character/clock icon, hour/minute character" and "temperature character/temperature icon, °F character."
  3. Menu Selection: The oven has 12 smart menu buttons, allowing you to choose one function at a time.
    • Available functions include: Ribs, Cake, Chicken Wings, Toast, Fish, Chicken, French Fries, Pizza, Unfreeze, Broiling Air, Broiling Strong Air, and Dehydrate.
  4. Function Knob: Twist the "FUNCTION" knob to select a menu. The corresponding menu font on the display screen will flash.
  5. Preset Menus: Each preset menu has default and adjustable time and temperature settings, along with specific heater and broiling (air) modes:

  1. Working Mode Button:

    • Function Knob: Twist to choose a menu; the corresponding menu will flash.
    • Start/Stop Button: After selecting a menu, press to start the work. Press again to stop. A buzzer will sound with each press.
    • Lamp Button: Press to turn on the internal oven light. Press again to turn it off. The lighting button remains valid after the product is turned on.
    • Temperature Key: Press to adjust the operating temperature (plus or minus). The corresponding temperature picture will light up.
    • Time Key: Press to adjust the working time (plus or minus). The corresponding time picture will light up.
    • Time/Temperature Knob: Twist to adjust time (in one-minute increments) or temperature (in one-degree increments). Maximum adjustable time is 24 hours, minimum is one minute. Maximum set temperature is 450°F, and minimum is 140°F. After 5 seconds of flashing, the adjusted temperature will be automatically confirmed.
  2. Screen Display Functions:

    • Heating Tubes:
      • "1" symbol: Bottom heating tube works.
      • "2" symbol: Upper middle heating pipe works.
      • "3" symbol: Upper two sides of the heat pipe work.
    • Lamp: "Lamp" symbol: Indicates the lamp is working.
    • Convection: "Convection" symbol: Indicates convection is working, turning slowly for low gear and quickly for strong wind.
    • Time Display: "Time" icon with "88:88": Displays the required time when selecting a time, the preset time for each mode, and the countdown time during operation.
    • Temperature Display: "Temp" icon with "888°F": Displays room temperature under normal conditions, the required temperature when selecting a temperature, the preset temperature for each mode, and the real-time temperature during operation.
  3. Display Screen: The display screen shows relevant fonts/icons. Hardware changes only affect component increases or decreases.

Positioning of the Wire Racks:

  • Cookies: Use bottom and middle support guides.
  • Layer Cakes: Use the bottom support guide only (bake one at a time).
  • Pies: Use bottom and middle support guides.

Caution: Always use extreme care when removing the bake tray, wire rack, or any hot container from a hot Air fryer oven. Use the rack handle or an oven mitt.

Care & Cleaning:

Warning: Be sure to unplug the oven and allow it to cool before cleaning.

  • Interior Cleaning: Any spattering that occurs during cooking and comes into contact with the continuous coating is oxidized while the oven is in operation. If desired, wipe the walls with a damp sponge, cloth, or nylon scouring pad and mild detergent.
    • DO NOT USE STEEL WOOL SCOURING PADS, ABRASIVE CLEANERS, OR SCRAPE THE WALLS WITH A METAL UTENSIL, AS ALL OF THESE METHODS MAY DAMAGE THE CONTINUOUS CLEAN COATING.
  • Accessories: All accessories should be washed in hot soapy water or can be cleaned in a dishwasher.
  • Door: The door can be wiped with a damp sponge and dried with a paper or cloth towel.
  • Exterior: Clean the outside with a damp sponge.
    • DO NOT USE AN ABRASIVE CLEANER AS IT MAY DAMAGE THE EXTERIOR FINISH.
  • Drip Pan:
    • DO NOT USE AN ABRASIVE CLEANER OR STEEL WOOL SCOURING PAD ON THE DRIP PAN AS IT MAY DAMAGE THE PORCELAIN ENAMEL FINISH.
  • Drying: Let all parts and surfaces dry thoroughly prior to plugging the Air fryer oven in and using.
