12.9.1 Transfer in the wheelchair
① Engage firmly both parking brakes.
② Detach the footrests or swing them outwards.
③ Flip back the armrests out of the way.
④ Hold the armrest of wheelchair and move slowly to the seat.
⑤ Sit on the wheelchair seat slowly to prevent the wheelchair from tipping.
⑥ Put back the footrests or swing them inwards.
⑦ Release both parking brakes for driving.
12.9.2 Transfer out the wheelchair
① Move the wheelchair as near as possible to the seat you want to move to.
② Engage firmly both parking brakes.
③ Detach the footrests or swing them outwards.
④ Flip back the armrests out of the way.
⑤ Hold the armrest of wheelchair and move slowly to the seat. Do not put all
your weight or apply large lateral force on the armrests.
Always ensure that the front casters are in line with the rear wheels and
facing straight to the front for gaining maximum stability when transfer in or
out the wheelchair.
