Overview

The Kebab King Doner Kebab Grill with Gas is a commercial appliance designed for grilling doner kebab meat. It features a moving body and a reversible motor, allowing for even cooking and easy access to the meat. The appliance is available in several models: KLG 150, KLG 151, KLG 152, and KLG 156, which vary in the number of burners.

Function Description

The Kebab King Doner Kebab Grill operates using either natural gas or LPG, making it versatile for different kitchen setups. Its core function is to grill doner kebab meat, which is typically wrapped around a spit. The appliance is equipped with safety elements, specifically thermocouples, which automatically switch off the gas supply if the flame on the heating elements extinguishes for any reason, ensuring user safety.

The grilling process is facilitated by a double-direction reversible AC motor, which rotates the doner kebab spits. This rotation ensures that the meat is cooked evenly on all sides. The distance between the heaters and the grilled kebab meat can be adjusted. This is achieved by pulling out the top part of the side handle of the moving body and then setting the desired distance by moving the entire body back or front. This adjustability allows for precise control over the cooking intensity and browning of the meat.

The appliance's structure includes a stainless steel frame, which contributes to its durability and ease of cleaning. It also features a safety valve, which is a critical component for gas operation. The lower reversible motor is integrated into the design to manage the rotation of the meat.

Usage Features

Before the first operation, it is essential to read the operating instructions thoroughly to prevent accidents or damage. The appliance should only be used in a mounted state to avoid contact with electric-conducting parts. It must be operated under a hood and on a flat surface, with sufficient air ventilation as per local fire and safety regulations.

Installation and Connection:

  • Electrical Connection: The electrical connection must comply with EN 60335-1 and EN 60335-2-38 standards and be performed by a qualified electrician. Grounding of the appliance is mandatory and must be maintained. Extension leads and multi-plug socket media should never be used for safety reasons. Before installation, check for any visible damage to the appliance. The data on the manufacturer's plate regarding fuse, voltage, and frequency must match the main electrical circuit. If the main cord is damaged, it must be replaced by KEBAB KING or an authorized technical service.
  • Gas Connection: Gas connections must be made by a qualified gas technician in accordance with valid standards and regulations. The technician should verify that local gas distribution requirements (type and pressure of gas) are appropriate for the appliance. The gas hose should not be squeezed under the frame and must be kept away from heated parts. The connection to the LPG tube or Natural Gas supply valve should be as close as possible and leak-proof. Gas leakage checks should be performed using foam, never fire, with appliance buttons set to "off" and the gas supply line on. For LPG gas, ensure that only a relief valve with specified features for the appliance is assembled.

Operation Steps:

  1. Gas Supply: Turn on the shut-off valve of the gas line or tube.
  2. Ignition: Start ignition from the top burner, then proceed to ignite other burners from top to bottom as needed, depending on the quantity of doner meat.
  3. Burner Activation: Press and turn the top knob to the high flame setting (indicated by a large flame sign, meaning "normal burn"). Use a lighter to ignite. Hold the knob pressed for 10-15 seconds, then release it. For low heat, turn the key until a small flame mark ("low burn") is shown.
  4. Motor Control: To rotate the doner kebab meat, switch on the Motor Control Key (7.) on the Lower Plate (6.). Choose position "I" or "II" for left or right rotation, respectively. To turn the motor off, bring the knob to "0" position.
  5. Meat Placement: Arrange the desired position of the fixing handle on the upper carrier. Insert the sword (skewer) with the doner kebab meat between the Lower Drive Shaft (11.) and the upper fixing handle, then close the cover of the lock mechanism (10.) of the upper fixing handle. Before inserting the sword, fix it on the Sledge Profile of the Upper Lock Mechanism (10.) in a middle position.
  6. Flame Outage: If a burner flame goes out, the thermocouple will automatically cut the gas supply. To re-ignite, repeat the ignition steps.
  7. Cooking Adjustment: Adjust the distance between the heaters and the kebab meat by pulling out the top part of the side handle of the moving body and setting the desired distance.
  8. Completion: Once cooking is complete, turn the "On-Off" key (3.) to the "off" position. If the appliance will not be used for an extended period, unplug it.

Safety Recommendations during Operation:

  • Only use the appliance for grilling doner kebab meat.
  • Only trained personnel who have read the installation, operating, and maintenance instructions should use the appliance.
  • Be aware that the Moving Body Frame, Sword, Above-Sword Lock Mechanism, and Sledge Profile become hot, posing a burn risk.
  • Protect hands with heat-resistant gloves, ensuring they are dry, as dampness increases heat conductance.
  • Do not slide the "Moving Body Frame" forwards and backwards sharply.
  • Prevent metal or other parts from entering ventilating openings, as this can damage gas fittings and electrical parts.
  • Adhere to the operating gas pressure specified on the appliance label to avoid gas leakage.
  • Clean any dirt immediately to prevent burning and sticking on surfaces.

In Case of Trouble:

  • If any trouble occurs, switch off the appliance's fuse, disconnect the power cable, and contact authorized services. Do not reconnect power until repairs are complete.
  • If a defect is determined, turn off the LPG tube or Natural Gas Valve and contact Customer Services. Do not make gas connections until repairs are completed.
  • All repairs must be performed by an Authorized Service Center, specifically KEBAB KING, to avoid personal injury and appliance damage and to maintain warranty validity.

Maintenance Features

Regular cleaning and maintenance are crucial for the appliance's longevity and safe operation.

Cleaning Steps:

  1. Disconnect Power: Unplug the appliance from the mains socket.
  2. Turn Off Gas: Ensure all gas valves are off. If possible, turn off the valve connected to the appliance's inlet.
  3. Cool Down: Allow the appliance to cool down completely before starting any cleaning.
  4. Initial Cleaning: Remove any rough dirt using a damp cloth, then wipe dry. Do not use detergent for this initial wipe.
  5. Fat Drawer: Frequently check the fat drawer (8.) during cooking and empty it. Do not pour used fat into the drainage system.
  6. Waste Disposal: Dispose of non-compostable waste (like bottles) according to local regulations.
  7. General Cleaning: Clean the appliance using a warm soap cloth.
  8. Drying: After each wet cleaning, thoroughly wipe the appliance dry with a clean cloth.
  9. Regular Cleaning: Clean the appliance regularly, ideally after each doner kebab making process, to prevent dirt from burning and sticking to the surface.

Cleaning Restrictions:

  • Never use pressure water or steam cleaning tools, as water and steam can enter electric-conducting sections and cause damage. The manufacturer is not responsible for damages resulting from such cleaning methods.
  • Avoid cleaning agents with abrasive effects, such as stain removers and anti-corrosive agents, and do not use sponges with hard surfaces.
  • Never use chemicals or steel cleaning materials.

Storage and Transportation:

  • Transportation: If transporting the appliance, use its original container and follow the movement marks. If the original container is unavailable, secure moving parts (sword, fixing handle, Moving Body Frame, Oil Drawer) with adhesive tape. Take protective measures against strokes to knobs, cable outlet sleeve, relief valve connection sleeve, and other surfaces. Do not place loads heavier than the appliance's weight on it.
  • Storage: Keep the product in a normal position during movement. For extended storage or sale, store the appliance indoors in dry, dust-free, and damp-free conditions.
  • Protection: When moving, wrap the appliance with foil to protect it from dust.

Injector Replacement: Injector replacement is a technical maintenance task that requires specific steps:

  1. Dismantle the Radian Gas Supply Pipe-Valve Connection Sleeve.
  2. Pull and remove the Bushing Pin.
  3. Pull and remove the Gas Supply Pipe from the radian gas inlet slot.
  4. Dismantle the current injector and insert a new injector appropriate to the gas system.
  5. Fix the Gas Supply Pipe back in place.
