KT2 LOUDSPEAKERS
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Thank you for purchasing a pair of Kelly
Transducers KT2s.
Much effort and research has gone into the
creation of these speakers which have been
designed for a highly musical and natural
tonal balance coupled to very high efficiency.
The high efficiency KT2s give full drama and
scale to music even when used with modestly
powered amplifiers.
Dust regularly with a soft duster or soft brush
but be careful when using cleaning or polishing
agents - they may harm the surface finish.

Introduction

Product Overview

High efficiency monitor loudspeakers designed for musicality and natural tonal balance.

Installation and Setup

Unpacking and Initial Siting

Carefully unpack, handle with care due to size/weight, and choose position carefully for best sound.

Magnetic Field Warning

Keep KT2s at least 1 metre away from TVs, monitors, and magnetic storage media.

Speaker Positioning Guidelines

Recommendations for distance between speakers, rear wall, and listening position for optimal stereo imaging and bass response.

Speaker Toe-in Adjustment

Slightly 'toed-in' speakers can improve stereo focus but may reduce the listening 'hot spot'.

Connection Preparation

Ensure Hi-Fi equipment is switched off before making any connections.

Wiring and Configuration

Normal (Single) Wiring

Connect speaker cables to terminals using banana plugs, spade terminals, or bare wires.

Polarity Warning

Ensure correct + and - polarity for optimal sound; incorrect polarity causes weak, 'phasey' sound with reduced bass.

Bi-wiring Connections

Remove linking bars; use two sets of cables per speaker for improved clarity.

Bi-amping Connections

Connect HF/LF sections to separate amplifiers for enhanced clarity and control.

Bi-amping Amplifier Note

Ensure amplifiers have same gain/polarity characteristics; consult dealer if unsure.

Grille Usage and Recommendation

Grilles are acoustically transparent; recommended for drive unit protection.

Speaker Feet Options

Equipped with rubber feet; optional spikes available for adjustable positioning.
