Battery Dismounting and Mounting Instructions:
For safety and shipping regulations, the lithium-ion battery is not fully charged and is in a hibernate state upon delivery. It is crucial to charge the battery before its very first use.
To dismount the battery:
- Insert the key into the battery keyway.
- Turn the key counterclockwise to unlock the battery.
- While holding the end of the rear rack with one hand and the end of the battery with the other, pull the battery backward away from the bicycle.
To mount the battery:
- Ensure the key is in the unlock position.
- With one hand holding the end of the battery and the other hand holding the end of the rear rack, slide and push the battery all the way into the battery rack.
- Lock the battery by key. Failure to lock the battery can result in inconsistent power.
The key is solely for locking and unlocking the battery. When in the "locked" position, remove the key from the keyway and keep it with the bike to prevent loss. It is recommended to keep the spare key with the charger.
Charging the Battery:
- Verify that the battery voltage is compatible with the charger.
- 36V batteries must be charged with a 36V (42V) charger.
- 48V batteries must be charged with a 48V (54V) charger.
- Open the soft cover of the battery charging port.
- Insert the charging connector into the battery charging port.
- Connect the charger power plug to a 100V/240V AC outlet. The charger LED indicator will turn GREEN.
- The charger LED indicator will then turn RED, indicating charging is in progress.
- Once the charger LED indicator turns GREEN again, the charging process is complete. Disconnect the charger connector from the battery and store the charger for future use.
Charger LED Indicator:
- Red light: Indicates charging.
- Green light: Indicates fully charged.
If the LED indicator remains Red after 8 hours of charging, it suggests an abnormal charging condition. Stop charging immediately and report the issue to the supplier for service.
Battery Power Indicator:
Push the soft button to activate the capacity meter.
- Flashing red light: Indicates no power or insufficient power, requiring a charge.
- LED green bars indication:
- 3 green lights = full energy capacity
- 2 green lights = mid energy capacity
- 1 green light = low energy capacity
- 1 steady red light = few energy left
It is recommended to always charge the battery after every ride.
Battery Storage:
- If the bike is used in or after rainy weather, remove the battery and wipe it dry.
- When the battery is not in use for an extended period or after charging, store it without plugging it into the bike.
- Check the battery energy status and charge it every three months.
Cautions when Charging:
- It is strictly forbidden to charge the battery with an uncertified charger.
- Avoid direct sunlight. Charge in a dry and well-ventilated environment.
- For optimal charging efficiency, charge within a temperature range of 32°F to 104°F (0°C to 40°C).
- Battery performance naturally deteriorates over time, whether used or not (known as "calendar fade"), and with usage (known as "cycle fade"). Following these instructions can effectively extend battery life and performance.
