The 2024 Kia Carnival MPV is a versatile vehicle equipped with numerous features designed to enhance comfort, convenience, and safety.
The vehicle's Bluetooth® Voice Recognition (VR) system allows for hands-free control of various functions. To optimize VR performance, it's recommended to use full names for contacts (e.g., "John Smith" instead of "Dad"), avoid special characters, emojis, and hyphenated names, and refrain from using acronyms or all-capitalized words. Speaking in a natural, moderate tone with clear pronunciation is crucial for accurate recognition. Environmental factors like open windows, sunroof, or high A/C fan speeds can interfere with VR accuracy. Users can press the talk button and say "Help" for a list of available commands.
Pairing a phone with Bluetooth® is initiated by selecting "Device Connections" on the infotainment system display or pressing the "Call" button on the steering wheel. During pairing, users must accept all requests for phonebook download and future auto-connection on their phone. For subsequent phones, the process may vary by infotainment system. If auto-connection issues arise, troubleshooting steps include rebooting the phone, updating its operating system, deleting and re-pairing the device, and ensuring Bluetooth® is activated on the phone. Some contacts may not download if they are not stored under supported categories (HOME, MOBILE, WORK, iPhone®) or if the total number of contacts exceeds the maximum allowed. Only the "phone contact list" should be selected for download, not social media or email contact lists. Phone operating systems frequently change, leading to varying compatibility levels. For assistance, users can contact their Kia dealer or Kia Consumer Assistance. Bluetooth® reception is dependent on carrier coverage and the phone itself. When streaming audio via Bluetooth®, ensure the device's listening volume is turned up.
The vehicle supports both Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. Apple CarPlay® allows users to connect their compatible iPhone® to the infotainment system display, enabling calls, hands-free texts, access to apps and music, and Siri® voice-controlled navigation. Android Auto™ connects compatible Android™ phones to the infotainment system, providing access to music, the phone's dialer, navigation, and more through an intuitive interface and voice commands, also controllable via steering wheel controls. Select models are equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Kia Access app requires both the cell phone and the vehicle to be connected to a cellular network with good wireless signal strength for remote commands to execute promptly. For Remote Start or Remote Start with Climate Control, all doors, the hood, and the trunk/liftgate must be closed and locked. This feature operates for 10 minutes before the vehicle automatically shuts off. Activating Remote Start a few minutes before entry allows the vehicle interior to reach a desired temperature. The quickest way to get an accurate vehicle status is by pressing the refresh icon on the app or customer web portal. To preserve the vehicle battery, Kia Connect will not work seven days after the ignition was last turned on, requiring a key fob restart to reactivate.

On the Home screen, press All Menus > Setup > Quiet Mode to activate it.
BCA uses rear-corner radar sensors in the rear bumper to monitor and warn the driver in certain situations if it detects an approaching vehicle in the driver's blind spot area and before changing lanes. Initially, BCA provides Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW) when it detects a potential collision with a vehicle, emitting an audible warning and visual alert on the outside rearview mirrors. If the system detects that the collision risk has increased, BCA automatically applies the opposite-side front brake to try and mitigate a potential collision. 1st-stage: When another vehicle is detected within the BCW warning boundary A, an indicator will illuminate on the outside rearview mirrors B. 2nd-stage: When the 1st-stage warning is on and the driver activates a turn signal, a flashing indicator will illuminate on the outside rearview mirrors and the system will sound a warning. 3rd-stage: When the 1st-stage warning is on and the 2nd-stage warning has already occurred, and the system detects that the risk of a collision has increased, braking is applied to the opposite-side front wheel and a visual warning occurs. BCA User Settings: To turn BCA on: With the vehicle at a standstill, the gear shift in Park, and the ignition switch or Engine Start/Stop button in the ON position, go to the User Settings menu in the Instrument Cluster. To do so, press the Mode button C on the Steering Wheel, then select User Settings.
