The primary function of the KICKASS POWERBOOST 1500 is to jump-start 12V lead-acid batteries, even those discharged down to 2V. Beyond jump-starting, the device also serves as a versatile power bank, featuring multiple USB outputs for charging smartphones, tablets, and other portable electronics. It includes a USB-C PD (Power Delivery) port that functions as both an input for rapid charging of the unit itself and an output for powering compatible devices, supporting up to 60W. Additionally, it has two USB-A outputs, one providing 18W and the other 12W, catering to different charging needs. Usage Features:
The KICKASS POWERBOOST 1500 is designed for ease of use with clear instructions for jump-starting and charging.
- Initial Charging: Before first use or after a long period of inactivity, the unit should be fully charged. A PD 60W wall adapter (not included) can charge the unit from 0% to 80% in approximately 50 minutes. It is recommended not to charge and discharge the unit simultaneously.
- Connecting to a Battery:
- Connect the battery clamps to the 12V output port on the jump starter.
- Connect the positive (red) battery clamp to the positive (+) battery terminal of the vehicle.
- Connect the negative (black) battery clamp to the negative (-) battery terminal or the vehicle chassis.
- Jump Starting Procedure:
- Ensure all vehicle power loads are turned off.
- Turn on the power button on the jump starter.
- Attempt to start the vehicle. Most vehicles will start immediately, though some may take up to 30 seconds.
- If the vehicle does not start, wait 30 seconds before trying again.
- Do not attempt more than three consecutive jump starts within a 15-minute period.
- Allow the Powerboost 1500 to rest for 15 minutes before attempting to jump start the vehicle again after multiple failed attempts.
- Once the vehicle has started, disconnect the cable clamps from the battery terminals and remove the Powerboost 1500.
- Safety Features: The device incorporates 100% maximum safety protection. It is not possible to manually override these protections to force a jump start. If the unit's temperature exceeds 55°C or drops below -10°C, it will automatically stop operation, and a warning icon will flash at 1-second intervals.
- Charging External Devices: Use the USB-C PD output or the two USB-A outputs to charge compatible electronic devices.
- LED Light: A white LED light is integrated for convenience in low-light conditions.
