The DSY/4..32 series comprises actuating drives designed for continuous control of air dampers in HVAC systems. These drives are equipped with a universal adapter for direct mounting on the air damper axle. The series includes models DSY/4, DSY/8, DSY/16, DSY/24, and DSY/32, with the DSY/8..32/E models featuring two adjustable auxiliary switches.

Function Description

The DSY/4..32 actuating drives are designed to precisely control air dampers. They receive a continuous control signal (Y) and translate it into a rotational angle to position the damper. The rotational direction can be reversed, and the rotational angle can be limited, offering flexibility in application. The DSY/8..32/E models extend functionality by incorporating two adjustable auxiliary switches, which can be set to trigger at specific rotational angles, enabling additional control or feedback within the HVAC system.

Nominal Voltage: 24 V AC ±20% or 24 V DC ±10%.
Power Consumption:
- In operation: DSY/4 = 2.5 W; DSY/8..32 = 2.5 W.

- DSY/4: DC 0 to 10 V (Ri > 100 kΩ).

Position Indication: Scale on actuating drive plus position feedback 0..10 V DC (R >= 50 kΩ).

- DSY/32: 32 Nm (for damper surface area up to 8 m²).
Rotational Angle:
- Working range: 0 to 90°, invertible rotational direction.
- DSY/4: Limitation possible at 0 to 30° and 60 to 90°.
- DSY/8..32: Limitation possible from 5° to 85° in 5° increments.

Auxiliary Switches (DSY/8..32/E): Two adjustable auxiliary switches, 24 V AC, 3 (1.5) A. Delivery setting: 10° and 80° rotational angle.

Usage Features

The DSY/4..32 drives offer several features for flexible and precise control:

Universal Adapter: Facilitates direct mounting on the air damper axle, simplifying installation.
Adjustable Control Signal Input: For DSY/8..32 models, adjusters O (starting point) and S (working range) allow modification of the Y control signal input, enabling fine-tuning to specific system requirements.
Automatic Adaptation: Double switch A (Switch 1) on DSY/8..32 models allows for automatic adaptation of the control signal Y to the mechanical rotational angle. When set to ON, the drive performs an initialization run, automatically approaching both end positions. This feature ensures that the control signal is adjusted to the available rotational angle, even if it changes or is limited.
Reversible Rotational Direction: Double switch A (Switch 2) allows for easy reversal of the rotational direction, providing adaptability to different damper configurations.
Mechanical Rotational Angle Limitation:
- DSY/4: Features left and right stops for mechanical limitation of the rotational angle, adjustable from 0° to 30°. These screws can reduce the 90° working range by 30° from each end position.
- DSY/8..32: The adapter can be reinserted to limit the rotational angle, allowing for a working range from 5° to 85° in 5° increments. This is achieved by disengaging retaining clips, pulling out the adapter, and reinserting it at the desired end position.
Manual Adjustment: A sliding switch on the DSY/4 and DSY/8..32 models allows for manual adjustment of the damper position.
Auxiliary Switches (DSY/8..32/E): Two adjustable auxiliary switches can be set to trigger at specific rotational angles (e.g., 10° and 80° as a delivery setting). These can be configured by moving the sliding switch for manual adjustment and turning ratchet wheels D1 and D2 until microswitches E1 and E2 switch, respectively.
