Overview

The Kikkaboo I-PRIME car seat is an i-Size Universal Belted Enhanced Child Restraint System designed for optimal safety and comfort for infants and young children. It is approved according to European Regulation 129 (ECE R129) and is suitable for children with a height between 40 and 87 cm and a maximum weight of 15 kg.

Function Description:

The car seat is designed to provide a secure and comfortable seating solution for infants in a vehicle. It can be installed rearward-facing using the vehicle's 3-point seat belt system. The car seat features a harness system to secure the child, and a headrest that can be adjusted to ensure optimal posture. A baby insert is included to provide additional support and comfort for very small babies, especially those under 75 cm in height. The handle is adjustable to four positions, allowing for easy carrying, placing the baby in the carrier, setting the carrier down safely, and for installation in the vehicle. A sunshade is integrated to protect the child from direct sunlight.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Approval Standard: European Regulation 129 (ECE R129) / i-Size Universal Belted Enhanced Child Restraint System.
  • Child Height Range: 40-87 cm.
  • Maximum Child Weight: 15 kg.
  • Installation: Rearward-facing only, using a vehicle's 3-point retractor seat belt.
  • Handle Positions: Four adjustable positions for carrying, placing, setting down, and vehicle installation.
  • Harness System: 5-point harness with adjustable shoulder straps and buckle.
  • Headrest: Adjustable to ensure optimal posture.
  • Baby Insert: Included for infants under 75 cm.
  • Sunshade: Integrated and expandable/foldable.

Usage Features:

  1. Child Securing: Always secure the child with the integrated harness system. The shoulder straps should be adjusted to the child's body, ensuring a snug but comfortable fit, and should not be twisted. The harness buckle must be correctly fastened with an audible "click."
  2. Handle Adjustment: The handle can be set to four positions by simultaneously pressing the two buttons on the handle and rotating it. Position A is for carrying (not for vehicle installation), Position B for placing the baby in the carrier, Position C for setting the carrier down safely outside the car, and Position D for vehicle installation.
  3. Headrest Adjustment: The headrest's height is adjustable to ensure the shoulder straps are at or slightly above the child's shoulders. To adjust, tilt the headrest adjuster until it disengages, slide it to the correct height, and re-engage.
  4. Harness Loosening/Tightening: To loosen the shoulder straps, press the harness release button and pull both straps forward. To tighten, pull the strap end straight towards you.
  5. Vehicle Installation: The car seat must be installed rearward-facing on the vehicle seat using the 3-point seat belt. Ensure the handle is in the upper position (D). The lap belt section must pass through the green belt guides on both sides of the carrier, and the diagonal belt section through the light green belt guides. The vehicle seat belt must be tightened and not twisted.
  6. Sunshade: The sunshade can be expanded or folded by pulling the head plate.
  7. Safety Precautions: Never install the car seat in the front passenger seat if there is an active front airbag. Do not leave the child unattended in the car seat. Ensure all locking devices are engaged before use. Avoid placing heavy objects on the car seat and prevent contact with corrosive substances.

Maintenance Features:

  1. Fabric Cover: The cover can be removed and hand-washed at 30°C with a mild detergent. Follow the washing label instructions. Do not tumble dry.
  2. Plastic Parts: Clean with soapy water. Do not use harsh cleaning agents or solvents.
  3. Harness: The harness can be removed and washed in lukewarm soapy water.
  4. Buckle Care: Malfunctions of the harness buckle are often due to dirt and dust accumulation. Ensure the buckle is kept clean. Never remove the buckle tongues from the straps.
  5. Regular Checks: Regularly inspect all important parts for damage and ensure all mechanical components function correctly.
  6. Accident Replacement: In the event of an accident (collision speed above 10 km/h), the car seat should be replaced, even if there are no visible damages.
