Kimberley Air Suspension - Changing an Air Bag
5
1. Raise the suspension with a
jack and support the unit with
a stand for safety. Remove tyre
and lower jack.
2. Using a 17 or 19mm socket,
remove the shock absorber
lower bolt. The top of the shock
can be left connected and the
shock can be rotated out of the
way. We recommend cable tie
the shock absorber out of the
way.
3. Using a 14mm socket, remove
the bottom bolt securing the air
bag to the swingarm. Find it
under the bottom of the spring
cup.
4. Using a 17mm socket and 6mm
hex key, remove the 4 bolts
securing the upper mounting
plate. This will come out with
the airbag.
5. Now you can remove the airbag
assembly. You will need to split
the urethane seal on the airbag
lower block away from the
plate and swing arm. This can
be done with a knife or sharp
blade.
6. Using a 14mm socket, remove
the two bolts securing the
upper mounting plate to the
airbag.
7. Use a  at-blade screw driver to
split the upper mounting plate
off the top of the airbag.
8. Remove airline with 8mm
spanner (or push-in collar) and
a 10mm spanner. Install airline
tting to the new airbag and
attach airline to  tting. This
may need some thread tape for
sealing! Test connection with
soapy water for leaks.
9. Reverse this procedure to
install the bag make sure Sika-
Flex / urethane is used when
installing the top mount to the
top of the bag and the bottom
of the bag to the spring cup
assembly on the swing arm.
