Chain brake
1. Make sure the chain brake is disengaged. Disengage the chain brake by
pulling the front hand guard (9) back towards the front handle (8).
2. Place the product on any suitable at
surface, make sure the saw chain
(10) is not touching the surface or
other objects.
3. Grasp the front handle (8) with your
left hand. Your thumb and ngers
should encircle the handle. Grasp
the rear handle (1) with your right
hand. Your thumb and ngers should
encircle the handle (Fig. 24). Fig. 24
4. Start the product as described, press the throttle interlock (2), then fully
squeeze in the throttle trigger (3) with your index nger and hold in this
position.
5. While the engine is running, engage the chain brake by rolling your left hand
forward against the front hand guard (9). The saw chain (10) should stop
immediately.
WARNING! The saw chain will not start if the chain brake is in the
engaged position.
Do not accelerate the engine for more than 10 seconds when the chain
brake is in engaged position (Fig.22), as the chain brake system inside
may damage the machine.
WARNING! If the saw chain (10) and engine fail to stop when the chain
brake is engaged, take the product to the nearest authorised service
centre or a similarly qualied person! Do not use the product if the
chain brake is not in working properly!
WARNING! The front hand guard (9) should not be used for starting
and stopping the product during normal operation!
Chain speed test
NOTE: Perform the following test before operating your product.
Start the product as described below and keep it in idle speed. The saw chain
(10) must not move when the engine is running idle.
