NOTE: It is easier to start the engine by setting the throttle at fast
tickover. When the throttle fast tickover is cancelled, the engine runs
at idle speed.
Chain brake
The chain brake is a safety mechanism activated by the front hand guard (chain
brake lever) (9). When kickback occurs the chain stops immediately.
Disengage chain brake: When the chain brake lever (9) is in the disengaged
position, the product can be operated with running saw chain (Fig. 22).
Engage chain brake: When the chain brake lever (9) is in the engaged position,
the saw chain is stopped as soon as the chain brake is activated (Fig. 23).

Chain brake test
WARNING! Before operating this product, always check that the chain
brake is in perfect working condition!
The following function check should be carried out before each use. The purpose
of the chain brake testing is to reduce the possibility of injury due to kickback.
