Why is the defogger valve knob hard to turn on my Kirby Morgan SuperLite 17B?
    • L
      Lorraine PalmerSep 10, 2025
If the defogger valve knob is hard to turn, the valve stem might be bent. Replace the valve stem.
  • M
    Mary HernandezAug 22, 2025
What to do if my Kirby Morgan SuperLite 17B regulator continuously free flows?
    • K
      Karen RuizAug 22, 2025
If your regulator is continuously free flowing, start by checking if the adjustment knob is screwed in. If not, screw it in. Also, inspect the bent tube for damage that might cause misalignment of the adjustment nipple, and replace parts as needed. Ensure that the supply pressure isn't too high; it should be lower than 225 p.s.i. over ambient. Lastly, the regulator may be out of adjustment and require adjustment.

Why is water leaking into my Kirby Morgan SuperLite 17B helmet?
    • O
      Oscar MoonAug 25, 2025
Water leakage into the helmet can occur due to several reasons. The exhaust valve might be damaged or stuck open, so try to seat or replace the valve. Check the binding posts or connector seal for damage, and clean and reseal them with RTV sealant if needed. Inspect the diaphragm for damage or improper seating, and seat or replace it. Also, examine the O-ring in the neck dam ring for damage or if it's missing, and replace it. Ensure that the port retainer screws are tightened. If the neck dam is torn or damaged, replace it. Hair caught between the o-ring and the base of the helmet, or the head cushion/chin strap caught under the o-ring at the neck dam can also cause leakage, so remove any obstructions. Finally, check the regulator assembly for proper configuration.

What to do if my Kirby Morgan SuperLite 17B regulator does not supply gas?
    • V
      vpetersenAug 27, 2025
If the regulator isn't supplying gas, first ensure that the gas supply pressure isn't too low; increase it to the minimum required for the depth. The regulator itself might be out of adjustment and need adjustment. Also, verify that there is gas in the umbilical and turn on the diver's gas supply topside if necessary. A blockage in the breathing system could also be the cause; disassemble the regulator, clean it, and then adjust it.

Why are communications weak or broken up in my Kirby Morgan SuperLite 17B Motorcycle Accessories?
    • S
      stephen72Aug 27, 2025
Weak or broken communications can be caused by corroded terminals in the communications module. Clean the terminals with a wire brush until they are bright and shiny. A weak battery can also be the issue; recharge it or use an alternate D.C. source. Finally, check for any loose wires and ensure they are cleaned and repaired.

What causes a Kirby Morgan SuperLite 17B Motorcycle Accessories bail-out bottle to drain without the diver opening the EGS valve?
    • V
      Victoria HallAug 29, 2025
A bail-out bottle draining without the diver opening the EGS valve can be due to several reasons: the stem failing to seat in the valve body (in which case, replace the EGS valve body), debris under the seat causing leakage (service the valve), a leaking over-pressure relief valve on the bail-out regulator (service the valve), a leaking bail-out regulator on the bottle (service the regulator), or a leak in the supply line 1st stage (service the regulator).

    Brenda ChenSep 18, 2025
What to do if my Kirby Morgan SuperLite 17B Motorcycle Accessories valve will not flow gas?
    • R
      reyessaraSep 18, 2025
If the valve will not flow gas, it could be due to foreign matter in the valve. Disassemble, clean, and reassemble it. Another possibility is a stripped control knob, in which case you should replace the knob.

Why is the diver's speech weak or can’t be heard in my Kirby Morgan Motorcycle Accessories?
    • S
      Shelly MillerSep 12, 2025
If the diver's speech is weak or can't be heard, the microphone in the helmet might be dead or damaged. Replace the microphone as per the manual.

What to do if my Kirby Morgan SuperLite 17B defogger valve will not flow gas?
    • K
      Kristine MartinSep 8, 2025
If the defogger valve will not flow gas, first ensure that there is air in the umbilical by turning on the air supply to the diver's supply topside. Also, check for foreign matter in the side block or one-way valve, and disassemble and clean them if necessary.
  • G
    Gary HuntSep 5, 2025
What should I do if communications only work when the wire is wiggled back and forth on my Kirby Morgan SuperLite 17B Motorcycle Accessories?
    • C
      Christopher McguireSep 5, 2025
If communications only work when the wire is wiggled, there is likely a break in the diver’s communication wire. If the damage is minor, splice the wire. If the damage is major, replace the wire.
