The KITCHER 6.8QT Stainless Steel Digital Air Fryer (model KAF6501) is designed to make healthy and delicious meals an everyday possibility, offering a convenient way to cook without excessive oil. This appliance utilizes hot air to fry ingredients, providing a crispier finish compared to traditional deep frying.
The KITCHER Air Fryer operates by circulating hot air around the food, ensuring even cooking and a crispy texture. It features a digital display and control panel that allows users to easily set the time and temperature for cooking. The appliance includes several preset options for common dishes, simplifying the cooking process. A fan icon on the display indicates when the fan is active during operation.
Before the first use, it is essential to remove all packaging, stickers, and labels. The pan, which is secured to the unit, should be pulled out by its handle for cleaning. Both the pan and the crisper tray should be thoroughly cleaned with hot water, dishwashing liquid, and a non-abrasive sponge. The inside and outside of the air fryer can be wiped with a moist cloth. During the initial uses, a "hot plastic" smell may be present, which is normal for new air fryers as the material heats up for the first time.
To use the air fryer, place it on a stable, horizontal, heat-resistant, and level surface. Insert the crisper tray into the pan, then place the ingredients into the pan, being careful not to overload it. For a crispier finish, it is recommended to spray the ingredients with cooking oil. Slide the pan back into the air fryer and plug the appliance into an outlet.
For optimal results, preheat the air fryer for 3 minutes to the desired temperature before adding food. When cooking multiple batches, only preheat before the first batch. The power icon on the display is used to turn the unit on. Users can then select a desired preset, which will display default time and temperature settings. These settings can be adjusted using the time and temperature arrows. Tapping the power icon again will start the air frying process.
Some recipes may require shaking the ingredients halfway through the cooking time to ensure even frying. To do this, pull the pan out of the air fryer by the handle, shake the ingredients, and then slide the pan back in. The display will enter sleep mode when the pan is removed, but the time and temperature settings will automatically resume once the pan is reinserted, eliminating the need to reset or press the power icon.
When the selected cook time elapses, a timer bell will ring. The pan should be removed and placed on a heat-resistant surface. If additional cooking time is needed, simply slide the pan back into the air fryer and adjust the timer. Food should be removed from the pan using tongs, as both the food and pan will be hot. It is important not to turn the pan upside down, as any excess oil collected at the bottom could leak onto the food. To avoid scratching the nonstick surface, sharp or metal utensils should not be used. After cooking, the air fryer is immediately ready for another batch without additional preheating. To turn off the appliance, press the power icon; the air fryer will cool down for 20 seconds before shutting off.
A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of entanglement or tripping. Extension cords may be used with care, ensuring their electrical rating is at least equal to the appliance's rating and that the cord is arranged to prevent draping over countertops where it could be pulled or tripped over.
The unit features a polarized plug with one blade wider than the other, designed to reduce electric shock risk by fitting into the outlet only one way. If it doesn't fit securely, reverse the plug. If it still doesn't fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug.
The air fryer should be cleaned after every use, ensuring it has completely cooled down before cleaning. Metal kitchen utensils or abrasive cleaning materials should not be used on the pan and crisper to avoid damaging the non-stick coating.
To clean, first remove the main plug from the wall outlet and allow the air fryer to cool. Removing the pan can help it cool faster. Wipe the outside of the air fryer with a moist cloth. Clean the pan and crisper with hot water, dishwashing soap, and a non-abrasive sponge. If food residue is stuck to the bottom of the pan, fill it with hot water and dishwashing soap and let it soak for approximately 10 minutes. The inside of the air fryer can be cleaned with hot water and a cleaning brush to remove any remaining food residue.
Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool down. Ensure all parts are clean and dry before storing the appliance in a clean and dry place.
Do not dispose of the appliance with normal household waste. Instead, hand it in at an official collection point for recycling to help preserve the environment.
