19. Replacing the Trailing Shield
WARNING
• Always remove the battery pack when servicing
or transporting the mower.
• Never operate the mower unless the trailing
shield is in place and working. Never operate
the mower with damaged safety devices. Failure
to do so can result in personal injury. The
trailing shield is subject to wear and damage,
which could expose moving parts or allow
objects to be thrown. For safety protection,
frequently check the trailing shield and replace it
immediately with only the identical replacement
part, listed in this manual. We recommend
having this carried out by an after-sales
service provider.
a. Remove the battery.
b. Turn the mower on its side with the upper
surface against a wall.
c. Remove the rear wheel on the top side,
following the section “Replacing the Wheels” in
this manual.
d. Loosen the wheel-cover locking screw, then
remove the wheel cover from the wheel shaft
(Fig. 19a).
e. Repeat steps a to d above the remove the
other rear wheel and the wheel cover.
f. Loosen the locking screw for the trailing shield
(Q) on both sides; remove the worn trailing
shield (Fig. 19b).
g. Replace with a new trailing shield and attach it
with the two locking screws and at washers.
h. Re-install the rear wheel covers and rear
wheels; be sure to replace the parts in the
exact order in which they were removed
(Fig. 19c).
