The auto-darkening feature may flicker or fail to darken due to a soiled front cover lens or dirty photo sensors. To resolve this, clean or replace the front cover lens. Also, wipe the photo sensors clean with a soft, lint-free cloth.

Also, confirm that there is sufficient light to activate the auto-darkening lens by testing it under light, switching between grinding and welding modes. Verify the shade number is correct and properly adjusted. Low batteries can also cause this issue, so replace both batteries, ensuring correct polarity during installation. Also you can pull out the covers on the automatic filter and replace both CR2032 batteries. After batteries have been replaced, insert the covers back on the automatic filter.
