Overview

This document is a user guide for the Kogan 13-in-1 Steam Mop, model KAMOP101STMA. It provides safety warnings, an overview of the device, assembly instructions, operational guidelines, and troubleshooting information.

Function Description:

The Kogan 13-in-1 Steam Mop is a versatile cleaning appliance designed for domestic use. Its primary function is to thoroughly clean various floor surfaces such as marble, ceramic, carpet, stone, linoleum, sealed hardwood, and parquet using steam. The "13-in-1" designation indicates its multi-functional capability, allowing it to transform into a hand-held steamer for cleaning work surfaces, kitchen countertops, sinks, bathrooms, windows, mirrors, and tiles, as well as for spot cleaning carpets and rugs. It utilizes steam to spray away dirt, grease, and mold, offering a chemical-free cleaning solution. The device is not intended for space heating purposes.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Rating Voltage: 220-240V
  • Frequency: 50/60HZ
  • Power: 1500W
  • Water Tank Capacity: 450ml (maximum)

Usage Features:

The steam mop can be used in two primary configurations: as a floor mop and as a hand-held steamer with various attachments.

Assembly and Configuration:

  1. Mop Head Attachment: The swivel joint of the mop head is inserted into the main body and secured with a screw. A microfiber cloth is then placed over the mop head, held by elastic.
  2. Extension Handle: The extension handle is inserted into the main body until it locks into place. The power supply cord is then inserted into the cord holder and upper cord wrap on the handle.
  3. Hand-Held Steamer Detachment: To use the hand-held steamer, the power supply cord is removed from the cord wraps and holder, and the button on the extension hose is unlocked to detach the hand-held steamer from the main unit.

Accessories and Attachments (for Hand-Held Steamer):

The device includes several accessories that attach to an extension hose, which in turn connects to the main unit:

  • Window Cleaning Tool: A coral cloth is installed onto the frame using a drawstring and hooks. This tool is used for cleaning windows and can also function as a garment steamer.
  • Garment Steamer: The window cleaning tool, with either a microfiber or lint cloth installed, serves as a garment steamer.
  • Duster: A cleaning coral cloth is installed onto the duster frame.
  • Table Cleaner: The main steamer attaches to a square brush, and a square cloth aligns with gripping hooks on the brush's bottom. Buttons on the square brush allow for detachment of the main steamer.
  • Straight Nozzle: Inserts directly into the extension hose.
  • Round Brush: Screws onto the straight nozzle.
  • Bend Nozzle: Screws onto the straight nozzle.

Operation:

  1. Water Filling: Ensure the unit is unplugged. Turn the water tank cap counterclockwise to the open position, remove it, and fill the tank with water up to the MAX (450ml) level using the measuring cup. Do not overfill. Replace the cap and turn clockwise to the "CLOSE" position until securely tightened.
  2. Power On: Plug the unit into a properly grounded outlet.
  3. Steam Generation: The unit will begin to produce steam. The steam volume can be adjusted using the Steam Volume Button.
  4. Surface Compatibility: The mop is suitable for marble, ceramic, carpet, stone, linoleum, sealed hardwood, and parquet. Caution is advised for wax-treated surfaces (wax may be removed), unsealed flooring, and heat-sensitive floors like vinyl or linoleum (excessive heat can melt glue). Laminated floors should be professionally laid without gaps or cracks. Always test on a small, isolated area first and consult flooring manufacturer instructions. The carpet glider should only be used on carpeting and rugs to avoid streaking or scratching other surfaces.
  5. Safety Precautions during Use: Never direct steam towards people, animals, or plants. Do not use without the floor cloth or without water in the tank. Exercise caution on stairs.

Maintenance Features:

Regular maintenance is crucial for optimal performance and longevity.

  • After Each Use: Unplug the power cord. Allow the mop pad to cool before removing the cleaning cloth. Empty any remaining water from the tank. Allow any condensation to drain from the steam opening. Wrap the power cord around the cord wraps. Wipe all surfaces with a soft cloth.
  • Storage: Store the unit indoors in a cool, dry area, away from direct sunlight or rain. Remove the mop pad before upright storage to prevent white marks on the floor (if marks occur, clean with vinegar).
  • Accessory Cleaning: Clean accessories (jet nozzle, round brush) with detergent and then rinse with clean water and air dry.
  • Decalcifying Water Tank Interior: To remove calcium deposits, add 1-2 tablespoons of white vinegar to a full water tank, shake, and let sit for a few hours (do not turn on). Empty and rinse with clean water until clear.
  • Removing Lime Scale (from system): If steam flow reduces, lime scale may be present.
    1. Prepare a solution of 1/3 white vinegar and 2/3 tap water and add to the water tank.
    2. Secure the unit so steam is directed away from surfaces. Plug in and turn ON. Allow the unit to produce steam until the vinegar/water solution is used up.
    3. Repeat as necessary until normal steam flow is achieved.
    4. Fill the water tank with fresh water and rinse out.
    5. Fill the water tank with fresh water, attach to the unit, and release steam until the tank is empty.
