  If your dishes aren't getting clean, several factors could be at play. Ensure you're loading the dishwasher correctly, allowing the spray action to reach all dish surfaces, and avoid overloading. Check the spray arm to make sure nothing is obstructing its rotation, including whether the filter screen has become dislodged. Use enough of a recommended dishwasher detergent that isn't hard or cracked. Also, scrape off excess food from dishes before loading, ensure the water inlet hose isn't kinked, and confirm the filter is correctly positioned.
