Do you have a question about the KOLEDA SOLUS+ and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The KOLEDA SOLUS+ is an infrared panel heater designed for residential use, offering efficient heating through direct energy transfer to objects. It is controlled via the accompanying FOVI app, which is available for both iOS and Android devices. The manufacturer strongly recommends using the heater with the app for optimal functionality.

Function Description

The SOLUS+ heater functions as an infrared panel, heating objects directly rather than the air. This method allows for more targeted heating and can contribute to greater comfort in actively used areas of a room. The device integrates with a Shelly Thermostat for temperature control, which also requires the FOVI app to operate. The Shelly Thermostat provides precise temperature and humidity measurements and allows users to set desired heating levels. The heater is designed for wall mounting, with specific installation instructions to ensure safety and optimal performance.

Usage Features

Installation:

  • The heater is designed for wall mounting. A template is provided to ensure level installation.
  • Four holes must be drilled, raw plugs inserted, and mounting screws partially screwed in (leaving 4-5mm of shaft exposed).
  • The heater then affixes to the wall by aligning the screw heads with the holes on the heater wall mount.
  • Safety during installation: The appliance must be disconnected from its power source. Do not cover the heater with insulating material or place it within 0.3m of flammable materials.
  • Placement: The recommended minimum distance from the panel to the floor is 1.2m, especially in homes with children. The space behind the panel and the wall must be unobstructed for air flow.
  • Avoid mounting where there is a risk of falling into water or in rooms where direct contact with water is possible.
  • The minimum distance from the back of the panel to the mounting surface is 40mm (ensured with provided hardware).
  • Objects in front of the panel must be at least 400mm away from the sides. The distance between adjacent heaters must be a minimum of 800mm. Failure to observe these distances can cause excess heat buildup and void the warranty.

Operation:

  • The SOLUS+ is primarily controlled via the FOVI app.
  • The Shelly Thermostat, which also requires the FOVI app, allows users to monitor and adjust temperature.
  • Shelly Thermostat Wake Up: Twist the top and bottom parts of the case counter-clockwise, then press the button. A slow flashing LED indicates AP mode. Pressing the button again puts the thermostat in sleep mode.
  • LED States (Shelly Thermostat):
    • Flashing quickly: AP Mode
    • Flashing slowly: STA Mode (No Cloud)
    • Still: STA Mode (Connected to Cloud)
    • Flashing quickly: FW Update (STA mode connected Cloud)
  • Factory Reset (Shelly Thermostat): Press and hold the button for 10 seconds. The LED will flash slowly upon successful reset.

Safety Advice:

  • Installation should be performed by a qualified professional due to the risk of electrocution.
  • The product should not be disassembled, as this voids the warranty and poses a safety risk.
  • There is a risk of injury from touching any electric heater; SOLUS+ panels can be mounted higher to reduce this risk, especially in areas with young children or the elderly.
  • Connect and install the device only as shown in the instructions to prevent damage, injury, or risk to life.
  • Do not touch the heater when in use, as its surface temperature can reach around 115°C, causing burns and injury.
  • The heater must be mounted on a non-flammable surface capable of bearing its weight.
  • Do not use the heater if the glass panels are damaged; disconnect it and dispose of it according to local regulations.
  • This heater is intended for use by adults; children should be kept away and not left unsupervised around the unit. Children must not plug in, switch on, regulate, or perform maintenance on the appliance.
  • If the electric supply exceeds 250 Volts, do not use the heater.
  • The electrical circuit powering the heater must be capable of disconnection and de-activation by a switch, fuse, RCD, or GFCI.
  • Do not operate the heater if the cord or plug is damaged, or if the heater malfunctions or has been dropped/damaged. Check for visible signs of damage before installation. Damaged appliances must be sent for repair to the manufacturer.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning:

  • Before cleaning, unplug the heater, isolate it from the electrical supply, and allow it to cool completely.
  • Do not immerse the SOLUS+ in water or splash water onto it.
  • Clean the glass surface with a damp cloth and glass cleaner.
  • Never use a wet cloth; dry surfaces with a dry cloth after cleaning.
  • Do not apply abrasive materials, solvents, or solvent wipes to the surface, as this can cause irreparable damage.
  • Wait until the unit is completely dry before use.

Repair:

  • Do not attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or mechanical functions on the unit, as this will void the warranty.
  • Repairs must only be carried out by an authorized KOLEDA service partner or the manufacturer (SIA Green Warm Technology).

Disposal:

  • Devices should not be disposed of with other household waste at the end of their working life. Users should contact their retailer or local municipal waste management for proper disposal or recycling.

Warranty:

  • Within the warranty period, repair or replacement due to defects in material and workmanship is free of charge, covered by the manufacturer upon presentation of an invoice or delivery slip.
  • The warranty is valid only if the device is used as intended and in observance of specified conditions.
  • The warranty covers repair or replacement of the defective product only; claims for consequential loss are excluded.
  • The warranty is void if the heater has been tampered with or opened.
  • SIA Green Warm Technology assumes no responsibility for scratches on surfaces or frames after first use, or for damage, loss, or injury caused by water ingress, accidental damage, mishandling, external impact, unauthorized adjustments, or failure to follow maintenance and safety precautions.
  • If a fault covered by the warranty occurs, the heating panel must be sent to an authorized service partner or the manufacturer with the invoice or original delivery note, properly packaged if sent by carrier.
