INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
1. MODEL WITH CHAIN SPEED CONTROLLER
Switch on the power and check the operation of the fan. The chain controls the fan as follows:
Pulling once: high speed
Pulling twice: medium speed
Pulling three times: low speed
Pulling four times: OFF
2. MODEL WITH 5-SPEED WALL-MOUNTED CONTROLLER
If the regulator speed controls are applied, the regulator controls the fan as follows: turn the knob to
position “1” (low speed) then increase as required in the steps to position “5” (maximum speed)
3. MODEL WITH INFRARED REMOTE CONTROL SPEED REGULATOR
(For models with remote control refer to manual 2193212)
USE IN WARMER WEATHER CONDITIONS
Airflow direction downwards. From medium speed to full speed. On warmer days, the ceiling fan will
reduce the use of air conditioning by keeping the air moving to keep you cool.
USE IN COLDER WEATHER CONDITIONS
Upward direction of air flow. Low to medium speed. In colder climates, upward airflow reduces
draughts by moving warmer air from the ceiling downwards. The exact speed will depend on the
size of the room, the number of fans, the height of the ceiling, etc. It should be fast enough to break
up air stratification, but slow enough not to create a draught.
TROUBLESHOOTING
1. THE FAN DOES NOT START:
Check the wires to make sure all connections have been made correctly
2. THE FAN OSCILLATES, MOVING 2-3 CM OR MORE:
a) May be caused by uneven blades or blade angles, blades deformed during shipping prior
to installation.
b) Check blade angles. Leave the fan running for a few hours. If the fan continues to oscillate, “swap”
two neighbouring blades and try again.
3. MOTOR JAMMED OR BLOCKED
Disconnect connections and refer to qualified personnel or contact service.
IMPORTANT
THIS EQUIPMENT MUST BE INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH NATIONAL AND LOCAL ELECTRICAL
