      If air is constantly coming out of the spray gun during priming, or if air (or material) fails to come out at all, it could be due to air intake at the fitting or suction rod. Ensure the spray gun is fully opened to allow air to evacuate. Inspect the pump valves. If a valve is stuck due to dried paint, try dislodging it by blowing air pressure directly through the suction fitting without disassembling the pump.

      If the lubricant in the cup of your standard pump is rapidly becoming colored, inspect the upper packing. Try tightening the cup or replacing the seals if necessary.

      If the pump fails to reverse, check the spring of the air motor reversing block. Lubricate the reversing block with HP 150 oil. Also, verify the presence of pilot air, depending on the air motor model.
