The KINETIC Medicine Cabinet is a versatile and stylish illuminated medicine cabinet designed for indoor use, offering both recess and surface mount installation options. It features an integrated LED lighting system, providing functional illumination for bathrooms and other dry areas.
The KINETIC Medicine Cabinet serves as a storage solution for bathroom essentials while also providing integrated lighting. The mirror surface is illuminated by LED strips, enhancing visibility and aesthetics. The cabinet is designed to be connected to a 120 Volt electrical box, which should be placed in the wall behind the cabinet, ideally towards the center, though the lead wire offers flexibility. An optional outside switch can be installed to control the defogger function, if present. It is important to note that an outside dimmer cannot be used with this mirror.
The KINETIC Medicine Cabinet is available in two models: KINETIC 1530 and KINETIC 2030, with varying dimensions.
All dimensions and specifications are approximate and subject to change without notice.
The total/maximum shelf load capacity is 34 lbs (15.4 kg). The electrical option cabinet must be wired to a 20 Amp GFI (Ground Fault Interrupter) protected circuit when used in bathrooms and other locations required by the National Electric Code. The lead contains three wires:
The cabinet is suitable for Bathroom Zones 2, 3, and non-bathroom/dry areas. It is not suitable for installation above baths or in Zone 1, nor for use in Saunas, Steam Rooms, or Shower Cubicles. It is designed for indoor use only and should not be fixed to damp or conductive surfaces. The cabinet should be sited well away from curtains and fabrics, and the mirror should never be covered. Users are advised to switch off the electrical supply after use.
The installation process involves several steps for both recess and surface mounting. For recess mounting, side mirror panels need to be carefully removed, and the door slid off the frame while supporting the hinge arm. Electrical preparation involves removing the electric box panel inside the cabinet, changing the location of the electrical cord as needed, and then reattaching the panel. For connecting multiple cabinets, connectors are provided at the top, middle, and bottom. The electrical route option and removable electric cover are indicated for these connections. The wall opening for recess mounting should be framed based on the cabinet's measurement, and the perimeter drawn on the wall before cutting. Electrical wires must be connected before inserting the cabinet into the opening, and screws used to affix it to the stud.
For surface mounting, the door must be removed prior to mounting the cabinet by unplugging it and sliding it off the frame. The cabinet's location should be leveled and marked on the wall. The bottom mounting bracket is then attached to the wall. With assistance, the cabinet is rested on the bottom mounting bracket and held in place while the top mounting bracket is inserted into the top of the cabinet and secured to the wall using a screw gun. The top bracket slides into a channel at the top of the cabinet and must be locked into the groove before securing.
Final assembly for both mounting types involves sliding the doors into place by pinching the end of the hinge and plugging the door into the cabinet. Snap-in holders are used in predrilled holes on the side of the cabinet. Glass shelves are positioned and pushed into side holders, then secured. Clear plugs are inserted into unused holes, and screw caps cover the screws.
The interior of the cabinet is constructed of mirrored glass and aluminum. For cleaning, only a soft, dry cloth should be used when the cabinet is turned off. Cleaning agents or abrasive materials should never be used. Ammonia or vinegar-based cleaners can damage mirrors. When cleaning, spray the cloth, not the mirror or surrounding surfaces. Moisture should not be allowed to come into contact with the lamps.
